The Word of Promise is an excellent way to listen to the Bible. The variety of character voices makes the book come alive. It makes following Scripture accounts very interesting.

Superlative readings of the Story of stories by well-known professional actors - marred by use of less-than-optimal translation and, above all, by annoyingly loud, repetitious, and highly distracting background music.

If you could sum up The Word of Promise Complete Audio Bible: NKJV in three words, what would they be?

This is a well acted, astonishing well produced presentation. I have owned 4 different Bibles on tape, CD and this one is by far the best. Michael York is probably one of the best ever actors for voice.

What did you like best about this story?

I like the blending of quiet music that did not detract from the story but aided in the telling.

What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Michael York, of course. He is one of the best.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I loved the telling of Genesis. I listened to the first 4 hours non-stop, and believe me, I never do that. But the reading, presentation of this story is fantastic.

Buy, buy this book and I highly recommend this Bible over all others.

Love this audiobook

As I age, my eyes tire easily & I don’t get to read as long as I would like. Listening is easy through my phone to my hearing aids. I can be still & hear the Lord no matter where I am or who I’m with. Most especially, I can take this audiobook as well as the written word on my phone in the YouVersion Bible App.

I appreciate the reviewer who laid out the chapters according to the books of the Bible. Not knowing how to go back & look up a place in the Bible has been frustrating.

Thank you all who put this audiobook together especially the actors with compelling voices & the music that brings the scenes more to life in my mind.

Best listening bible app I’ve found. Rarely is the music too loud. Sound effects are great and most of the actors are too. I e listened to every book but psalms, those I read.
