Why I Hate this Edition

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Divide the audio bible by books, chapters and verses, just like the bible. No, it only came with chapters that had nothing to do with the book. How lame!

Any additional comments?

Fix this! The bible is unlike any book you'll read. We need to fix this!

Easier to navigate than it was before

Any additional comments?

Love Max McLean's voice and narration.

It has been changed from 37 parts to 12 parts, but with more "chapters" in each part, still hard to find exact book and chapter/verse but easier than before.

Great audio Bible but usability not friendly

Please divide by books and chapters. For sake of ease of biblical ordering possible number the books: 1 Genesis chap 1, 1 Genesis chap 2, …; 2 Exodus chap 1…

A solid value

The reading is just a bit fast for my taste, but otherwise it's very good. It is well modulated without being excessively theatrical. The sound quality is acceptable. It's got adequate divisions in it that you can find the book and perhaps chapter that you want without too much trouble. The translation is one I haven't used before, but it seems pretty good. I usually listen to it while driving, and it's very good for that purpose. I also like to play audio when I am going to sleep, and it's quite good for this purpose too.

Now by books of the Bible

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I hesitated to buy this book because of the reviews regarding how the Bible was broken down at unusual points. I was pleasantly surprised to find I could download a book at a time to my Droid. Max McLean's voice holds my attention like no other. Love it!

no Bible Books headings

If you could sum up The Listener's Bible in three words, what would they be?

I love it. I only wish there were book titles and chapter numbers in order to go where you want to go in the Bible listening.

Have you listened to any of Max McLean’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

n/a

This is by far one of the best audio Bibles I have listened to.

You can understand the English that is used. Brings the story to life.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Uh, no way too long. But I didn’t listen anything else until I was finished with this title.

Excellent

Would you consider the audio edition of The Listener's Bible to be better than the print version?

I was first drawn to this album because Max McLean narrated it. I wasn't disappointed.

What does Max McLean bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Max McLean sells this audio version of the ESV translation of the Holy Bible. His voice, enunciation, and inflection brings the passages of the Bible to life.

Any additional comments?

The audio album is broken out pretty much by book. Shorter books such as those of the minor prophets and the shorter letters of Paul and John are combined but sill easy to navigate through. The audio is crisp and clear and Mr. McLean is his usual excellent self as narrator.
