Story
The Most Holy Rosary is one of the greatest prayers in the history of the Church. Garnished as it is with the testimony of saints and popes for the last thousand years, the only greater prayers are the Mass and the Divine Office. It is a prayer for the people, to be said over and over, and yet many still seek ways to enter into the deeper mansions of spiritual richness to be found in this devotion. If you seek to reap the full harvest of this bountiful prayer, focus on the mysteries to better follow the life of our Lord through the eyes of Our Blessed Lady.

Story
This classic work from Thomas à Kempis, author of The Imitation of Christ, is now available in English for the first time. It is a simple truth that, without the virtue of humility, we cannot enter the kingdom of heaven. It simply cannot be done. Just as pride is the root and source of all sin, so is humility, the foundational virtue in which all other virtues must be grounded if they are to bear fruit. Humility is the heartbeat of the saints. It is the virtue that conforms us most closely to Christ.

Story
The Chaplet of the Divine Mercy is rooted in traditional themes of God’s mercy, particularly for those burdened in their consciences by sin. St. Faustina Kowalska, who, after a vision from Christ, created the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy, recommended the Chaplet especially to those who are particularly vexed by a sinful past or the ongoing struggle against habitual or persistent sin in the present. This guide provides an introduction to St. Faustina and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, and three methods to pray.

Story
The saints, the heroes of the Roman Catholic faith, lived lives of holiness, dedicated to serving God. The saints lived at different times in different places throughout history, but they all shared a love of God that has been documented through the teachings of the Church. Today, the saints serve as examples for all Catholics, showing the believers how to lead a more spiritual life. Catholic devotions are particular customs, rituals and practices of worship or in honour of the saints that are in addition to the liturgy of the Catholic Church.

An attenuated and unbiblical “faith” based on what Bonhoeffer called “cheap grace” has sapped the spiritual vitality of millions of Americans. Paying lip service to an insipid “evangelism,” they shrink from combating the evils of our time. Metaxas refutes the pernicious lie that fighting evil politicizes Christianity.

The ancient Toltecs believed that life, as we perceive it, is a dream. We each live in our own personal dream, and these come together to form the dream of the planet, or the world in which we live. Problems arise when our perception of the dream becomes clouded with negativity, drama, and judgment (of ourselves and others), because it's in these moments of suffering that we have forgotten that we are the architects of our own reality and we have the power to change our dream if we choose.

Very d/isappointing
What did you like best about The Holy Rosary? What did you like least?
The narrated voice came across to me as very stiff and unfeeling. I am a Catholic and have prayed the Rosary all of my life. This version omits the small prayer between the Glory Be to the Father and the announcement of the next decade and the subsequent Lord's Prayer and Hail Marys. If the narrator understood this prayer he would have instilled in his delivery a softening of tone and some love into his voice, but still with respect for what it is.. I bought this recording so that I could listen and pray the Rosary at various times of the day, but find this recording very difficult and unpleasant to listen to.
The order of prayers should be, from the beginning of the beads at the crucifix
The Sign of the Cross
The Apostles Creed,
The Lords Prayer,
Three Hail Marys,
then now and between each decade -
The Glory be to the Father,
this small prayer "Oh my Jesus forgive us our sins, save us from the fire of hell,
lead all souls to heaven, especially those in need of mercy"
The announcement of each decade,
the Lords Prayer and then subsequent decade of Hail Marys.
The final prayers at the end are correct.
I do hope that someone will take notice of this review.
How could the performance have been better?
Maybe a change of delivery and a true knowledge of the order of prayers.
Did The Holy Rosary inspire you to do anything?
This recording was very disappointing I do not want to listen to it again.

This version keeps me focused
I have neveer been good at praying the rosary. This version keeps me focused, and my mind doesn't wander. Martin is very British, and that may bug some people. But, for me, his very matter of fact and rather commanding voice work. I use this most days.
If you are looking for reflections with the rosary, then this is not for you. But I stop the player at the beginning of each decade and pray for what I am led to pray. The prayers at the end of each rosary are a slightly different translation, which I am growing to like.

A Rosary a day keeps evil at bay
What did you love best about The Holy Rosary?
A wonderful way to say the Rosary to keep focused.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Mary and Jesus. Mary gently takes us through the life of Jesus providing us with great hope.
Which character – as performed by Eric Roland Martin – was your favorite?
Hope for salvation for the poor impoverished sinner
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Heaven comes to Earth.
Any additional comments?
Pray the Rosary for your salvation and that of the world. We will have no peace as long as we kill the innocent.

Traditional Version
This Rosary uses a more modernized translation. I like and am more familiar with the traditional version, which for me gives more depth of meaning. It is nice to hear the Rosary through the day.
I would like the mysteries in chapters so that I could find and focus on a specific mystery if I needed to.

Not what I expected
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
I did not feel this book was rewarding. Mr. Martin did not expand on the mysteries to be meditated on, did not include the Fatima prayer, etc.
Would you be willing to try another book from Eric Roland Martin? Why or why not?
No.
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
It was dry, no emotion, no insight into the Rosary. The most dead performance of the Rosary I have heard.

Very helpfull
As a girl who grew up with a mother who was forced to do the rosary EVERY DAY as a child, I was a novice to the rosary. I needed something to help give me focus and flow during adoration. I use this audio recording to stay on track and mindful. Each set of mysteries is done as its own complete rosary so I used bookmarks to move from one set of mysteries to another as I usually do three rosaries in the hour. I do put the narrator speed on 1.25, which I think helps make it more conversational, not lecture- like in speed. Highly recommend, particularly if you are new to the practice.

Rosary recited by a distracting actor.
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
If you can get past the distracting pompous sounding accent, this presentation might be for you. This narrator is just going through the motions, not praying.
Who was your favorite character and why?
The only thing I liked about this was he was reciting the rosary.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Eric Roland Martin?
I would have chosen a priest or monk as the narrator. Anyone who sounds like they are devote to the rosary instead of just reciting it for money.
