    "Sounded too clinical and unfeeling"

While I agree with the premise of this book and truly believe most of her teachings are based on what God intended for husbands and wives, I found her verbage and tone to read (or listen) more like a 1950's etiquette book. I finished about 3/4 of the book and finally put it down.

    "Excellent indeed"

I read this in preparation for teaching Sunday School to better teach on both roles. I found this to be the best resource I read on the topic. It was informative, thoroughly scriptural, convicting, applicable, and direct even for me as a man who hopes to be a husband. Seeing the caliber of calling upon the wife was challenging for husband's responsibility.

One of my new favorites on Christian life and growth.

The narrator wasn't the best but passable.

    "Appreciated"

I enjoyed the content. I was convicted and disagreed with somethings. It felt as though there was no room give to process through the raw emotions to then turn back to the hope we have on Christ. Almost like feelings are wrong and not "allowed". Overall, I've recommended this book to many since reading it and I will read it again.
    95% winning, 5% hmmm.

    "Excellent Book!"

I loved this book ...it was highly recommended and so I tried it out. I see why. A single parent christian. I desire to be an excellent christian wife...although this book is not talking about becoming the "perfect wife" , but it lays out many biblical principles about the role of being a wife...and her role in submission. I plan to order this book and keep it in my arsenal as a reference through out my walk and future marriage to come. Happy Reading! You wont regret it!

    "A new perspective"

This story really helped me take the words of the Bible and my future place as someone's wife and combine them together to make better sense. Being a feminist it was hard to take some of the submission but knowing that you are doing it for God and that when you get married you become one...really helped me to see it differently.

    "Time for an update!"

The content of the book is good. The delivery is awful. It's so stale and does nothing to make what is often difficult content relatable.

"Those who have ears to hear...."
Where does The Excellent Wife rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This book helped me become a more excellent wife in practical ways. I like books like this one that give you actual scripture, then apply it to multiple situations that you may deal with.

Have you listened to any of Tamara Adams’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

The reader is very professional. An easy listen.

    Any additional comments?

If you have an open heart, this book can teach you a lot. I have listened to it at least three times. I find something new every time, and it deepens my commitment to my husband and to Christ. This book is real spiritual food--not easy to swallow, but very filling.

    "Hard to get through"

I thought this book would never end. The narrator is ok. The subject matter is relevant. There are so many nearly constant Bible citations that's it's hard to get into a good flow with the content. The author overuses the word "reproof", I swear I never want to hear that word again after listening to this book. I did learn some new ways to look at situations and I was definitely convicted a few times. I doubt I will ever listen to this book again, however. It is so dry. For a better read on this subject, get "when a woman inspires her husband" on amazon.
