Clear voice, easy to understand, no music

I was so pleased to find this, I have the exact same version on CD’s that I purchased 20+ years ago. I still love to pop those in my car, but wanted something I could listen to anytime. I now read the ESV, but didn’t find a version of that on Audible that I liked. There are lots of great audio Bibles out there, but I bought this one because it is voice only, with no music, and the narrator has no accent so it’s easy to understand, even when sped up. The version with the British narrator and music is also beautiful, but it’s hard to understand unless you are really concentrating. My only complaint is the chapter divisions, I wish it was sorted by books of the Bible to easily navigate. There is a reviewer who posted the chapter breakdown, so I will screenshot that and use if needed.

I live this audio Bible. Mr. Sarris has a voice that I enjoy listening too. Mine downloaded in 72 unlabeled sections in order. . If I pick a section, it tells me what Books and chapters are in it and the desired chapter can be chosen. It isn’t hard to find what I’m looking for.

Excellent!!! Don't miss!

The NIV version of the Bible is clear, and easy to understand in modern English.
It is a great choice for listening and I was surprised to notice that with someone else reading, I remembered better and saw connections and had comprehensions of underlying themes which I had missed in reading it.

I like to listen to a few chapters a day.

Don't miss this! It will give you plenty to listen to and think about for years to come.

I have really enjoyed the narration of George W. Sarris. He has a great, easy to listen to voice and he uses it well.

He uses his inflection well, although he clearly has not tired to do a tremendously dramtic rendering. I like this approach.

Given that, he had me giggling when speaking for Balaam's donkey and several characters who were clearly drunken.

I will listen to this many times in days to come.

You will not regret this version, this voice or this purchase.

I like that you can download portions, hold your finger on one and see a summary of the whole Bible to know which part contains the book of the Bible you want to read. George Sarris does an excellent job of reading with passion and inflection in his voice. The reading speed is easy to adjust. This is very well done!

listen while you read

first off it's the Bible, so a rating feels not quite right. I used this as a tool to listen while I read through the Scriptures this year. narrator doors a great job. not showy or distracting but solid and just the right amount of personality in different characters.

if you're not a strong reader or if you have struggles focusing I'd highly recommend downloading and listen/read in tandem.

This is a great way to experience God's word in a busy world. You'll find you're opening your Bible every day by the end of it. it has the power of god to save your soul.

Excellent Narration. Unable to navigate by Chapter and verse

This narration is excellent. However there is no way to listen by Book, Chapter, or Verse. The chapters are not labeled. Its too bad because otherwise this is great.
