Listen to the New Testament (New King James Version) read in its entirety by music legend Johnny Cash. After 20 years of encouragement from his mother to record the Bible, he approached the recording of the New Testament with "fear, respect, awe, and reverence for the subject matter". Cash added, "I also did it with a great deal of joy, because I love the Word." Johnny Cash Reading the Complete New Testament is 19 hours of the Word of God from one of the most distinctive voices of our time.

I've listened to just about every audio bible out there: Scourby, Johnston, Zorsky, Peck, McLean, and several others I can't even recall. Some were unlistenable from start. Others would start off fine and then, after a while, you realized that it was EATING YOUR BRAIN! I was about to give up on listening to audio bibles altogether when I stumbled on this one, where the Man in Black reads the NT. From the first moment I started listening, I knew I had finally found The One.
Cash reads the NT in a manner that engages you and draws you in. He sounds like he's talking *with* you, not *at* you; like he's talking to a close friend and not up on stage talking to strangers. I've only had this audio bible for a few weeks but I've already listed to it for dozens of hours (I hike a lot and listen to it while hiking).
The translation used is the NKJV, which is a good, faithful translation but lacks the "clang and flavour" of the KJV. Reading the NKJV is like drinking decaffeinated coffee-- same basic brew but lacks the punch and kick of the fully-caffeinated KJV. Nevertheless, this audio bible is an outstanding production.
This product is the NT only. For Psalms, Alex Jennings' rendition of the KJV Book of Psalms is incomparable.
This is my favorite version of the New Testament that I've heard so far. I really like Johnny's voice. It comes across in such a warm and calm way, which results for a very enjoyable listen.
Marty Stewart once said, if God had a voice it would probably sound like Johnny Cash. I listen to my ipod practically every night as I go to sleep. The New Testament being read by a true legend. WOW! I can't think of a better way to end a day :-) Thanks Johnny! Thanks Jesus!
I have several copies of the New Testament in audio format. Unfortunately, many of these have music accompanyment. Why is that necessary? We don't hear music with other books except as introduction and ending - perhaps.
Over all this is a good alternative for individuals who wish to listen to the New Testament. I personally enjoy Johnny Cash and enjoy this addition to Audible. I would prefer some of the others if they were available without the music which I find a distraction. If you want music accompanyment - this version is not for you.
You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me.” ― C.S. Lewis
One of the greatest voices matched up with the greatest book ever written. Only one regret... he didn't read the old testament.
I am a miracle worker. Doing what I can to choose love over fear.
Yes: My Christian ones. You know the Word is never read out. Still different versions create different verses stand out. This verson must be directed by God himself. Too fantastic for regular words. If you are a Christian this is a true must. Use your credit knowing this is credit proof forever.
This is The New Testament. Every single person is needed to make it into what it is.
Every word; every second so amazingly perfect

Old times sensation
No other book to compare. It is the word and wisdom of God to help us strive to perfection. Wether it is read from a child or from Johnny Cash. Johnny Cash gives it a sensation of a father reading to his family from times long past.
Beginning to end
Very much enjoyed listening to Johnny Cash read the New Testament of the Bible. I can't say he was any better than other narrators (incl. Alexander Scourby) I've listened to reading the Bible. However, he was very good. Too bad he didn't do the entire Bible. I recommend this audio bible highly.
We enjoy listening to Johnny Cash read the New Testament. Sometimes it is hard for little ones and I to pay attention to the reading, but his rich voice helps us pay attention. We have a couple of other audio Bibles, but this is the best. I wish there was an Old Testament by Johnny Cash to listen to, but there is none listed and Johnny Cash has gone to His Father.
"My favourite audio bible"
I love Johnny Cash and Johnny reading the bible is a match...well made in Heaven!
His calm, southern accent...makes listening a pleasure
Nope - except of course to his music!
The Man in back is back telling us of a greater man who comes back...for you
Loved it - and am slowly savoring...
