Take out your bible and learn all about Exodus, alongside Dr. Bill Creasy. With a PhD in English literature and substantial experience teaching, Dr. Creasy deeply probes this seminal work. While having a few good laughs, listeners will enjoy learning about the Ten Commandments, Moses' birth and life, and the building of the Tabernacle. Occasionally, some background noise distracts, but usually the sounds of the audience add to the immediacy of the lecture. Dr. Creasy looks at key themes like evil, redemption, and faith, with a warm, inquisitive tone. Listeners can certainly trust him to be both engaging and investigatory.
Join Logos Bible Study as we continue the story of redemption. As told by Dr. Bill Creasy, Israel falls into the cruel bondage of slavery in Egypt. And it is no accident: God had said to Abraham 500 years earlier that his descendants would be “enslaved and mistreated four hundred years”.
Follow Dr. Creasy as we meet Moses, one of the Bible’s great characters; witness amazing miracles; review the Exodus and the Ten Commandments; and discuss the building of the Tabernacle - a physical structure that enables sinful man to gain access to an infinitely holy God.

Dr. Creasy covers each book verse-by-verse, providing context to the material by explaining other passages in the Bible that may relate to a passage under study, with descriptions of corresponding historical events and the geography and their relationship to the passage, as well as anecdotes from his travels or study. I find it extremely helpful to study the Bible in context with geography and history.
As explained in the opening lesson on Genesis, this study starts with Genesis in the Old Testament, then moves to Matthew in the New Testament, then Exodus and Leviticus in the Old Testament, then back to Mark in the New Testament, and so on. Dr. Creasy does this because 1) if covered in weekly segments, as done in his class, it would be in year 5 before he got to Matthew, and 2) to help show the relationship between Old Testament and New Testament.
Three minor complaints with the Exodus study: 1) included in one of the lessons were a few announcements that were relevant only to the study group being taught the lesson, not other listeners, and 2) it was easy to hear cell phones ringing in the background, which is understandable with this kind of recording, but it was annoying, and 3) Dr. Creasy hastened through the final chapters that covered construction of the Tabernacle; he may cover this later, but I would have liked some greater detail here.
This is the third in the Logos Bible Study series, preceded by Matthew and followed by Leviticus.
Having followed these courses in bible studies, I have found their particular version to be very informative. I will be trying to purchase further books by this author.

I may not agree with every single item that Dr. Creasy espouses, he is very engaging and creates a word picture.
Bill's input into the facts.
Moses conversations with God.
Bill adds factual information based on his experiences in the areas Exodus refers to.
This reading based on the NIV and Bill's expansions are eye openings to the Exodus.
Bill Creasy does an excellent job of walking through the book of Exodus. He is engaging, identifies the highlights, and shows how Exodus is related to the rest of the Bible.
Bill Creasy does a fabulous job of bringing the Bible to life with his teaching! He incorporates aspects of language, literature, culture, geography & history and a warm, personable style to this study. A really fun Bible study that I look forward to listening to. :)
Who else but Moses?!
Many, many great chapters, but my favorite was the account of the baby Moses being found by Pharoah's daughter, and relating it to a story from his own life.
Well yes, I'd like to, but I can't sit for 10+ hours! Plus, this Bible study is more meaningful if you can read the accompanying passages in the Bible along with listening to the study.
What an excellent Bible study! I'm so glad I came across it in Audible! I'm looking forward to going through the entire Bible with Bill Creasy. His presentation of Genesis is also excellent, and I recommend listening to it first if you're new to the Bible.
Dr. Bill s an expert the history, the archaeology ,and what it was like to live and different times. There is enough gravitas there for senior Christians and newbies. Hetakes teaching the word of God seriously and approaches it with humor!
Dr. Bill states what the Lord says,, and then might go off into various interpretations but iin the end he is word-based always word based!
He makes the Bible fun!
Dr. Bill has opened up the Bible to me and thousands of others! He is a gem if I did not get to meet him on earth than I will certainly meet him in heaven in which I will give him a big hug!
That not only goes for Daniel but for other books of the Bible! I originally started listening to his series in preparation of precepts upon precepts studying revelation! and it made it a whole lot easier on me! I am ones and those who actually understands revelation!
I wish there were more people out there like Dr. Bill and there would be more Christians without a doubt!
