I'm recommending this book to everyone that will give me two listening minutes. I grew up in the church. This book is very helpful to bring Jesus from the pictures and story book and makes him real. He is shown as a human and explains some things that we're funny that I never read or heard like that my whole life! Read it... please!

Wonderful perspective on Jesus

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and plan to listen to it again. It gave me a new perspective into some of the events in Jesus' life and into who he is. I especially enjoyed the discussions of the playful side of Jesus and the point that he was and still is the most human person to ever live despite being one with the Father. I never noticed or thought that his favorite title for himself, the Son of Man, was his way of emphasizing his humanity for those of us today who recognize his deity and can lose sight of his humanity. I have always wondered why Christians today capitalize the "H" in "He" when referring to Christ while the English translations of the gospels do not. Obviously out of respect for his deity, but I now realize at the cost of his humanity, at least in my mind. I highly recommend this book!

Great book to hit the reset button on who Jesus is

This was a great book to clear out the cobwebs of overly religious views of who Jesus is. We accept so many ugly, impotent ideas about Jesus - read this book. Re-read the gospels and be re-introduced to the most amazing man to ever live.
