Publisher's summary

The Zondervan Biblical and Theological Lectures series provides a unique audio learning experience. Unlike a traditional audiobook's direct narration of a book's text, A Theology of Biblical Counseling: Audio Lectures includes high-quality live recordings of college-level lectures that cover the important points from each subject as well as relevant material from other sources.

For over four decades, biblical theology has been at the core of the biblical counseling movement. Leaders in biblical counseling have emphasized a commitment to teaching doctrine in their counseling courses out of the conviction that good theology leads to good counseling and bad theology leads to bad counseling.

In A Theology of Biblical Counseling: Audio Lectures Heath Lambert unpacks the core convictions that underlie sound counseling and gives practical wisdom for our counseling practices today. These audio lectures show how biblical counseling is rooted in the Scriptures while illustrating the real challenges counselors face today.

A Theology of Biblical Counseling: Audio Lectures is accessible for working biblical counselors and for counselors-in-training at colleges and seminaries. In each lesson, doctrine comes to life in real ministry to real people, dramatically demonstrating how theology intersects with the lives of actual counselees.

Great intro.

it was a good lecture series. Primarily theological/theoretical; unfortunately, less practical in it's instructional approach.

Outstanding Lectures

I have a secular Master's degree in counseling (retired now), and I have studied many philosophies for helping clients in need. This one series helped give me more direction than I believe that I have had. I feel a strong desire to refresh my materials to utilize this information to help me if I come into a casual counseling setting.

The sufficiency of the Bible for counseling is exalted throughout this book!

Greatly enjoyed this book. I also liked his narration and I found his voice easy to listen to and the narration well articulated.

The author highlights faithful counseling according to the scriptures. His teaching style is excellent and his argument is well laid out.

As followers of Christ we should be equipped to counsel those in need from the scriptures and need not immediately send a fellow believer in need off to a “professional” counselor.

Great overview of the history and true focus on Biblical Counseling

Mr. Lambert does a great job laying out a case for faith that the Bible can be the go to resource for counseling. This would be extremely helpful to anyone considering work in the counseling field.

fantastic book, very informative and helpful

For anyone interested in the foundational truths of counseling, get this book.
Heath does a fantastic job teaching foundational Christian theology and showing how it applies to the counseling conversation.
The audio lectures are from the author himself, not a paid book-reader, which is very nice.
