Good story premise
This was a good premise to a series my granddaughter listened to but the main female character was so immature and selfish and whiny. She’s supposed to be a feminist always wanting to be in on missions and arguing to be put in danger then cries and spaces out all the time and runs off to brood. She chooses to stay with a prince and expects him to step down and live on her ranch and herd cattle even though the nation needs him. The lead up to her choice was torture. The male character was a model of patience and kindness of course. I was relieved when the audio books were over. The plus side of the series was it was very clean. No language or sex. Just jokes about it. Good for teenagers. My granddaughter enjoyed it but forwarded through a lot of the inward thoughts I noticed.
