Publisher's summary

Bertram Drake, international man of mystery, leads a double life. By day he is the council’s most valuable pawn, but by night he is a traitor, aiding and abetting the dangerous leader of the organization looking to undermine dragon society—a man who goes by the name of Raven, and who is none other than the father of Bertram’s children and his beloved mate.

Kept from his family by his dangerous wild magic, Sorin is a man on a mission. As Raven—the leader of the Vanguard—his life’s purpose is to save and rehabilitate the omegas being mistreated by their cloisters, but when an unexpected discovery puts all Pedigree omegas in mortal peril, his goals shift. He must do whatever it takes to ensure no omega ends up suffering like him.

Even if it means playing the part of the villain and severing ties with his mate.

Raven: Part Two is the 92,000 word conclusion to the Forbidden Desires series. It contains eye-opening revelations, new outfits for little lizards, extremely scientific field studies, and a love that manages to conquer all. For maximum enjoyment, Raven: Part Two is best listen following the events of Clutch, Bond, Mate, Swallow, Magpie, Finch, Peregrine, and Raven: Part One.

Better than expected

I read both these Raven books back to back in one sitting and I’m going to had a book hangover for a long time. I was so excited to listen to the audio and it did not disappoint!!! I haven’t read or listened to anything this good in a long time! I cried, I swooned, I cheered, and I even laughed even though this was the most tense pairing in the series. There were so many hurdles to get through and so much working against them but it all just made their HEA more satisfying. I’m sad this is the last of the series these books are so well done and the world one I don’t want to leave. Most of all I need to witness Raven having all his babies back in his arms

What are ending!

I can’t believe how these authors managed to put together all the pieces and bring this fabulous series to a close. I am very fond of these dragons. It hasn’t been an easy journey to the end, especially for these two Sorin and Bertram, but I think it was handled brilliantly. I’m not crying. It’s your imagination. Michael Ferraiuolo does such an amazing job with these characters too.

Exceptional Story, Series & Narration🎧

Piper Scott and Virginia Kelly created something very special with their “Forbidden Desires” series, from the original to the spin-off, an amazing series with equally amazing characters and storylines. The world building has been phenomenal, the same for the writing and plotting, and the complexity of it all is impressive. That said, the authors delivered a worthy ending for the series and for Bertram and Sorin’s story. Sorin became one of my favorite characters in the series, which is a complete turnaround of how I felt about him going into the Raven. My heart went out to him and all he endured and the same for Bertram, whose story is also sad, just in a different way. Bertram and Sorin romance was centuries in the making, each being on their own mission and could have easily been enemies and missed out on the loves of their lives. Thankfully, they didn’t because their world is a better place because of them. It was great to see all the characters from the earlier books, especially my favorite, Harry, followed closely by everyone else, Drakes and their dragonets. I am sad to see the series end, but with every ending there is a new beginning, one I will be looking forward to. Piper Scott and Virginia Kelly, thanks again for this amazing series and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 Michael Ferraiuolo’s talent knows no bounds, and he did an amazing job bringing these characters to life, humanizing them with personality and their emotions. I loved how he took each role and made it his own, sounding believable and just as I imagined the characters to sound. He gave each character their own distinct voice, making it easy to follow and tell who was who, and his versatility truly shines with all the different accents he used. M. Ferraiuolo is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another exceptional listen.

An extraordinary conclusion

Dedicated to his cause with the council Bertram lives a double life which did not let him have a life with his mate.
Dedicated to fighting for equality of omegas, Sorin has started away from his mate.
Having a tumultuous relationship which eventually leads to a loving one after they fought for it over a span of five hundred years, Bertram and Sorin take you on an adventure as they overcome obstacles to get their HEA.

The conclusion of this well loved series is an emotional one at times as we get appearances from all of the Drakes as we learn the history behind Bertram’s and Sorin’s action as they make amends for their actions and finally build their future.

An absolute pleasure to listen to. I loved the narration of this one and how Michael stayed true to the vocalisation of each chatter throughout this series.

Superb narrating

ALL THE STARS for Michael. He is one of the most talented narrators in the MM game. Chapter 23 is a master class of narrating. Not only does he manage to pull off multiple characters (9) in one chapter he manages to do every single one of their accents where you know exactly who is talking. When I say dual narrators aren't necessary when there is talent, he is absolutely the type of narrator I'm talking about. Bravo!!

4 stars for the story

Sorin is still on his mission to free every Omega. The Vanguard is still in place with him at the helm. However, the more time he spends away from Bertram the more the voices in his head cause him pain. Which in return makes his role as lead difficult. When one disastrous field mission takes place it causes Sorin to have to take on a role he never wanted.

Bertram is still trying to play his parts. Playing both sides over the years has taken it's toll. He misses his mate so much but until their goal is reached being apart is what they must do. However, the more issues the Vanguard causes with dragon kind the bigger the problem playing both sides become. In the end, for Bertram, there is nothing more important to him than protecting his mate.

This is the conclusion of this series. I did like it but will say I preferred book 1 more. I'm not big on the main couple spending half the book apart. When they finally reconnect it's beautiful and everything I love. These two have been through so much and to see them get their HEA is the best.

Narration made a good story even better

Bertram is desperate to see his secret mate Sorin. Sorin, is actively undermining the dragon council using the Vangard organization to protect helpless omegas. Both dragons terrified that the new mating experiment will only hurt more omegas by separating them from their clutches. As they work their way back to each other, the path isn’t clear and its unavoidably full of pain.

I have many feelings about this book. So much sadness. Bertram and Sorin being separated for most of their lives even though they are mates. Bertram’s separation from his family by his father in the name of keeping dragons safe, always pushed into the background. Sorin’s horrific loss of his clutches and his mental instability and the deadly magic consequences because of those losses. Supposed good guys doing bad things in the name of the better good and really having minimal repercussions for their actions.

On the other hand, there’s Harry and Steve (and Genesis) who would brighten even the grimmest story. The Drake clan and their mates as a whole are a mixed mess of attitudes, outrageousness, entitlement, sweetness, anger, and lots of caring and love.

Michael Ferraiuolo is an excellent narrator. I liked the book, but his interpretation and the voice he gave each character (of which there were many) were recognizable and distinctive and this made the story even better.

I loved it

I really enjoyed finally reading everything from Ravens perspective it was really hard to see them both struggle for so long having to be apart but especially Raven because of his mental struggles I was really happy with the way things ended up for them and loved the emotion brought to the story by the narrator

They all must end

Story: It was a long journey for both Sorin and Bertram, but this is their story. Sacrifices were made, pain was endured but yet the journey had its good sides too. Picking up from the last book, many years come and go and Sorin and Bertram have to overcome a lot to get where they are meant to be. I loved every minute of it. My heart was sore and then warmed. This was such a good ending to the series.

Audio:
Michael Ferraiuolo did all these characters so well. I love his varying accents to bring each to live that was true to the story. It's a bittersweet ending but will come back again.

Great end to a favorite series

I hate seeing this series end, but Raven was a great ending to this amazing series. This book skillfully wove though events that had taken place in other books in the series, providing a new perspective on events. Soren’s difficult journey through a long life struggling with mental health issues is heartbreaking so it was great to see him get his HEA. The fabulous Michael Ferraiuolo truly brought so many great characters to life in this book and the entire series.
