Publisher's summary

A powerful sorcerer. A forgotten past. Hellequin is back, and the end is near.

A terrible storm is brewing in London, and Nathan Garrett, the sorcerer known as Hellequin, is the only one who can stop it.

But his enemies have other plans. Harnessing the power of an ancient stone tablet, they cast Nate and his allies into another realm, where a bloody conflict rages between creatures twisted by magic. Meanwhile, with his friends' lives in danger, Nate must put centuries of differences aside, and place his trust in one of his greatest foes.

Time is running out. Trapped and outnumbered, Nate must use all his wits and power to survive and find his way home before his enemies start a war that could destroy everything he holds close. Welcome to the penultimate chapter of the Hellequin Chronicles.

New narrator is really good!

I admit that I'm only a few chapters in so I'm just assuming that the story is as good as the rest, but the Narrator is SO Much better!
I've always liked the books (lots of fun!) but the previous narrator always annoyed me. He made all the female characters (no matter how strong and powerful) sound like high voiced, weak, little girls. This reader - Great with accents, Great with voices. So Much Better. Very Happy!

Enjoying the story

I enjoyed the story, was a bit gauge one the world building at first but strangely enough I think it kinda works when you take into account each book builds on the world bit by bit. a little odd when they changed narrator's a couple of books back but still enjoyable.

great series!!

and so far, i think this book has been the best! Mr McHugh is an expert at tying up loose ends while leaving you on an edge of your seat cliffhanger at the same time! i wasn’t sure about the narrator change, but Mr Mattacks was great and very enjoyable to listen to. applause all round!!

Narrator

It was through gritted teeth that I made it through this one. Changing the narrator this far into a series is very difficult to handle.

good book, very enjoyable listen

my only problem with the book was the new narrator. I was used to the previous narrator that it threw me for the first half of the book.

Great Story ok performance

I've listened to all of these stories on audible. This was not the best performance.

Main reason is that the reader falls out of character to often confusing the storyline and dropping the listener out of the immersive tale. The reader starts a different character's voice before the right dialogue begins. Using for example the voice of the fox for the voice of a villain on occasion and vice versus.

Previous Books reader was amazing.

Excellent narration

I was somewhat concerned that the new narrator would affect my enjoyment of the series, but I think he did an outstanding job. I felt the original narrator did a wonderful job, but I feel that the new narrator was just as good.
