Publisher's summary

Inspiration from the Apostle Paul on how to pray bold, exciting prayers.

So many of us struggle with prayer. Many books have been written on the subject, and there’s a reason for that. Prayer comes hard to most of us in most seasons. And when we do pray, we often don't know what to say.

What is it that my Father loves to hear about?

What are the best things I could pray for my family, my church, and myself?

This short book by renowned Bible teacher Alistair Begg combines warmth, clarity, humor, and practicality as he examines Paul’s prayers for his friends in the church in Ephesus.

Paul clearly enjoyed prayer and was excited about it. He expected his Father in heaven to hear what he said and to act in other people’s lives accordingly. The truths that underpin and shape his prayers will motivate us to pray and set us an example.

So, be inspired by the Apostle Paul to pray bigger and better prayers as we look to our heavenly Father to do more than all we ask or imagine!

I will listen again

I enjoyed the reading. I am a sucker for a Scottish accent. I really did learn from the book so I will listen again so I can remember more. I will probably listen several more times.

5 stars well written

This is a book that you can listen to over and over. When he 1st starts out reading the book and I'm listening, I feel like he started talking too fast for me. I wish he slow down a little bit. But did get better After the 1st chapter.

Effective Praying

Alistair Begg at his finest!! The narration is a-one - his Scottish accent adds so much yo the subject. Following much of Paul’s letters, he captures the essence of how and what to pray about.

Tangible and eye opening

I loved the direct calls in to praying big, I enjoyed the application and examples given after each chapter. I especially loved how relatable and timeless the text is. Great narration, will definitely listen again and take notes - and pass this on to friends.

Wonderfully written, wonderfully read

Loved it. This book emphasized the heart posture before praying. It taught who God is and Who we are in Christ. Having that understanding encourages us to Pray Big.

Excellent book about prayer!!

I loved this book and I ask my Heavenly Father that I will embrace it’s teaching and also put it in practice. I love Alistair Begg’s teaching and loved that he is the one reading his book.

Great Book

Every Christian should have this book in their library! I will be listening to this audible book over and over. I love that Alistair read it himself! I listen to him almost everyday on Moody radio.

Simplicity of speech is wonderful

In an era when many authors are trying to break new ground where it has already been broken, Alistair Begg’s simplicity and forthrightness are what is needed. In addition to his direct words, his low-key delivery and soft manner of speech avoid harshness. He is delivering scripture and giving real-life applications, if one will but listen. The light Scottish accent makes it pleasant listening although at times the pronunciation makes my ear do a double-take. Prayer may come naturally to some, but I’ve listened to many prayers (church-goers, no less) that would greatly benefit by reading this book. Ye have not because ye ask not, it is true. Benefit yourselves today with this short (2.5 hours) but oh-so-effective book.
