Publisher's summary

Finding an ancient treasure was not as fortunate as one might expect. As soon as Bai Rouyun had left the grave, countless sects and hidden families set out to kill her for the sake of obtaining her treasure for themselves.

After months of killing, and leaving a trail of numerous corpses, Bai Rouyun finally could not continue. Unwilling to succumb, she refused to let them get the treasure, and she threw herself off the mountain top, taking the treasure with her to the eternal grave in the clouds.

However, the treasure she had picked up was anything but ordinary. Soon she woke up in the body of a mute, deaf, and mentally challenged woman who...had just gotten married?

Trying to get used to her new life, swearing to gain vengeance while juggling her newlywed husband, was a task that genuinely required all her wits.

Good start in new series by Tinalynge

I approached this with caution, after Tina's last book that ended up being a pure romance novel I was giving this a shot with my fingers crossed. Now i will say this has a bit of romance to it but a good balance on a bit of cultivation as well. The story of the MC is fun, the introduction of her husband was excellent and he was a good addition to the book, Brother Rabbit added something quirky to the story as well. I enjoyed the new narrator to her books to top it all off, she did a wonderful job and brought the book to life. My only complaint is the story does not do a halfway decent job about explaining anything about this worlds cultivation. It spends 30 seconds at the start of the book going thru the levels of cultivation at 100 miles per hour with no explanation between levels. So cultivation is a bit flat and you really cannot get excited for any levels she gains since you really dont know anything about it. This sort of oversight is really happening with quite a lot of cultivation novels these days. The author almost assumes you know what it is and expects you to just enjoy their tiny explanations and go with it. My opinion is if Tina wants to glaze over cultivation so much and not give us a fun explanation in each series is for her to pick a single style that is used thru all of her stories that way we can learn it in depth across worlds. But other than this little pet peeve of mine i enjoyed the hell out of the book and look forward to book 2!

Bad writing or that kind of story?

I have read this kind of story before, with the same kind of what I would say bad writing and weird repeating of people's thoughts. Like a character will say what they feel about a character and why in their thoughts and then maybe three sentences later they will repeat how they feel again and along with the reason again. But as I wrote before, I can't say that this is wrong because I have read similarly books before that do the exact same things along with other peculiar stuff in how they write story. So for this book I think it is intentional, just not for me.

hour an a half in. i hate it so far.

This is not a cultivation novel. It is a badly written romance.
everyone is in awe of each other's hyperbolic beauty and grace. faces flush with desire, eyes turn into moons when they smile, complexions darken with rage...
everyone is so hot and desirable and strong and ... you catch my drift?
male lead straightout murders 2 long time loyal subordinates because they displeased the female lead, who he met exactly one day before. He is spineless.
At this point, an hour and a half in, i have no ide what he stands for. He seems to be leading a rebel faction against his own family. We don't know why.

And the female lead is no different. She was ambitious in her previous life, shown in her daring to steal the whatever mcguffinfrom a royal tomb. She then gets killed and reborn and uses her new position to... seek revenge and establish herself as lady of the manor and simp for her hubba-hubba husband.

i may change my mind. there are many hours still to go. But im honestly considering letting that credit go to waste.

Update: Female lead is 15 and due to malnutrition looks younger. Ew. Just ew.
