Publisher's summary

#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • Don’t miss the hit streaming series Reacher!

No Plan B is not to be missed. A perfectly plotted, fast-paced thriller, with bigger twists than ever before. It’s no wonder Jack Reacher is everyone’s favorite rebel hero.”—Karin Slaughter

ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS OF THE YEAR: Reader’s Digest

In Gerrardsville, Colorado, a woman dies under the wheels of a moving bus. The death is ruled a suicide. But Jack Reacher saw what really happened: A man in a gray hoodie and jeans, moving stealthily, pushed the victim to her demise—before swiftly grabbing the dead woman’s purse and strolling away.

When another homicide is ruled an accident, Reacher knows this is no coincidence. With a killer on the loose, Reacher has no time to waste to track down those responsible.

But Reacher is unaware that these crimes are part of something much larger and more far-reaching: an arsonist out for revenge, a foster kid on the run, a cabal of powerful people involved in a secret conspiracy with many moving parts. There is no room for error, but they make a grave one. They don’t consider Reacher a threat. “There’s too much at stake to start running from shadows.” But Reacher isn’t a shadow. He is flesh and blood. And relentless when it comes to making things right.

For when the threat is Reacher, there is No Plan B.

Critic reviews

“The ‘Child’ brothers keep powering along, and their collaboration is bringing a new energy to the beloved Jack Reacher series (which is also flush with new fans in the wake of the hit adaptation). No Plan B has all the staples we’ve come to appreciate: a smalltown, arrived to seemingly at random, but soon Reacher finds a conspiracy unfolding, as a series of ‘accidental’ deaths have something more sinister behind them. Reacher, naturally, will apply brutal reason (and other brutal forces) to find his way into the depths of this small town’s corrupt soul.”CrimeReads

No Plan B is one of the best Reacher books in years.”—TheRealBookSpy

“Fans who come for the action . . . will not be disappointed. . . . A grimly efficient addition to the Reacher canon.”Kirkus Reviews

HUGE IMPROVEMENT

So much better than the last two. Feels like Reacher again. Good story, good villains.

Ignore the Negative Reviews!!

I have no' idea what the harsh critics are talking about! I've been a Reacher fan from the beginning, and can say with confidence that the plot, the writing, the characterization and narration are right in line with the ones that made me first love the guy. Is it the best Reacher ever? No, probably not. But it certainly isn't the worst, or anywhere near it. Just a solid, fun adventure. Is anything missing? Well, it could maybe use a bit more math. . .

If a true Reacher fan, don't waste your money

Having listened to all of the Reacher series, they keep going downhill. Originals were great, since bringing on others to help in the series, nothing good has come. Will be my last Reacher novel sorry to say.

Good except for annoying characters

Basic story: Reacher stumbled into a couple of seemingly unrelated murders. But you knew that. It’s what Reacher does. A female friend of one of murdered people accompanies Reacher as he solves the crimes. Story is fun and more than a bit unusual. But, the female tag along and another somewhat irrelevant teenager keep doing really stupid things and you wish Reacher would ease his pain by shooting both of them. At one point he tells the female they have but 9 minutes before the crooked cops get there and she spends 8:30 minutes on a stupid rant.

The teenager has no reason to even be in the story and is about as dumb as a brick. He constantly says he is NOT a thief and then steals yet another item.

The Reacher series has been my all time favorite book series, it's been great seeing you grow and expand. I enjoyed this one as much as I've enjoyed all the others.

Child's has lost his touch.

Not even close to his earlier works. Very disappointing. He used to be my favorite author.
