Publisher's summary

A war of two Houses. A prince waking from darkness. A woman drenched in his blood.

In the Fae city of Everenne, the Prince is waking. The Court has not felt the full weight of his presence in centuries. It is the soul cry of his fiercest enemy that stirs him.

Aerinne Capulette has led House Faronne in the ground war against Prince Renaud since she was a child. But her people don’t take prisoners, and the secret of the warrior she executed in battle may shred the white flag the warring Houses have finally waved.

The secret will cost her life if Renaud finds out.

As she navigates the cease fire, it becomes clear that terms hinge on an unexpected element.

The dark prince wants her and is obsessed with having her at any cost, even if he must wield his dark power to claim her against the protest of his Court, the fury of her House, and her own defiant will.

They may be enemies, but her hatred only seduces his darkness.

Night in His Eyes is an adult high heat Fae fantasy romance set on a modern alternate Earth. For listeners who crave enemies-to-lovers, obsessed dark heroes, murderous heroines, and a battle of dark wills. First in the Prince of Everenne series.

I need more

The story was great and I did not expect that ending. There were some parts that I felt were a bit slow but the narration? The narrator kept me engaged and entertained the entire time!

Enchanting Fae romance

I was hooked from the first sentence of this book. The writing and world-building is absolutely gorgeous. I loved the idea of Fae and Earth sort of combined--or else next-door neighbors. I enjoyed the beautiful world of the Fae sprinkled with realistic Earth references.

I actually rated the story 4.5, and that's because of the MC, Aerinne. She is supposed to be young, in comparison to the Fae lord, Prince Renaud. She is fiery and feisty and I understood that she was filled with hate towards Renaud for killing her mother. I also understood that she's supposed to be young and I'm sure she'll grow and mature as the series progresses. I did have a lot of sympathy for her, and I admired her spirit. Sometimes, her dialogue made me laugh out loud. However, at times she could really try your patience...

Which I'm assuming is the point. I do love watching character growth.

I was interested in the relationship between Renaud and Aerinne. I liked how she didn't just roll over and fall for the Fae prince immediately. I liked that she resisted, even when people around her kept warning her not to. I'm definitely interested to see how the relationship will progress.

The narrator did a stupendous job. She made all the accents believable and kept me intrigued and engaged.

I received a review copy of this audiobook and this is my honest opinion.

what a story but leaves off with a cliffhanger, so can't wait for the next book. The narration just made this book better which was so good. Again can't wait until the next book.

Story is a good start to series.

So much happens here to establish the conflict between the two fae houses. However, once the Prince awakens things take a turn and peace is on the table. It is clear the Prince has Aerinne but she fights her attraction. There are still some secrets between them that could see her end. So the Prince stakes his claim and Aerinne is kicking and screaming while trying to avoid what may be inevitable. Character development is good with lots of snark and banter. Aerinne is a bit immature but she is far so she has time. The narrator did an excellent job bringing the characters to life.

So good!

Not only was the story amazing, but the narration was incredible as well! This is the first time I’ve done immersion reading and I’m so happy I did! Having narration absolutely enhanced the story! This particular narrator is incredible. Her voice is incredibly soothing, while still packing a ton of emotion! Night in His Eyes tells the story of feisty Aerinne, the heir to house Faronne , whose sole mission in life is to kill Prince Renaud of House Montague, as repayment for killing her mother. Little does Aerinne know, The Prince has his own plans for her and the petty house squabble. Night in His Eyes has a badass fmc, enemies to lovers, touch her and unalive vibes, a possessive alphahole, fae politics, and house loyalties. A great fantasy read if you’re looking for a new series to get lost in.

Great performance.

Ruthie did a great job with this story I was just
Upset that this ended in a cliffhanger. I also may have missed some things since it took so long for me to listen to it. I did notice a few times the corrections that were done since it sounded different in the recording.
