CYA

Joe Pritchard game warden, husband, and father steps out to do his job and law enforcements job in his corner of the world. Along the way he deals with a lot of good guys that are truly bad, and a lot of bad Guys that are not at all as bad as the good guys say the are.
A great story about honor and doing what you say you are going to do

I can not seem to put it down!

Where does Winterkill rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This was a good story. To begin with I did not think that I would be a fan of CJ Box, but I really enjoy his Joe Pickett series.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Winterkill?

The explosion of the compound and the death of little April.

Which character – as performed by David Chandler – was your favorite?

Nate Rama..... I enjoyed his characterization. I hope we see or hear from Nate again.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Both.

Any additional comments?

Joe appears to be a good guy who tries to do the right thing regardless of the outcome. Very, very, very few people live life this way.

A Government-Hating Survivalists Group

This is one of those stories that left me feeling empty. I can't declare that I enjoyed the story nor can I declare that I hated it. The characters are realistically drawn and the story was fitting to the circumstances. However, after finishing the story, I felt that something was missing, or incomplete. Or maybe the story was just not my cup of tea. I've listened to and liked other CJ Box stories but this one fell flat for me.

Saddest book I’ve read in this series

Government incompetence is all over the place in this, the third novel in this series. What happens when the top officials in a task force are seriously evil? Nothing good. How much does it take to tear apart a family and put a child’s life in danger? A bribe here and people without a heart playing the “protect a good ol’ boys/ girls network. Couple that with one man who plays by the rules of morality and you’ve got a bumpy ride. Whose life is spared and whose life is not and you have a wild ride but does good win out or will evil win this time?

You Have Got To Be Kidding

Oh good the police are a bunch of thugs and the Sovereign Citizens are just some good old boys a little rough around the edges.

I'm finished with it and the book goes back.

Great Book Even Better Narration

I love CJ Box, and David Chandler is an excellent narrator. Loved it and am going to listen to every book in the series.

Love these Joe Pickett books

I really love this series, and I hope they bring back Nate Romanoffski, because the narrator really nailed this voice, but his Melinda Strickland was pretty darn good. I can't say enough about the narration and writing. The combination is spot on. Try at least three, you'll be hooked.

C.J. Does It Again

Joe Pickett is a great character and he gives us a honest look of a America few know in States with fewer residents than most big American cities. This is another great ride.

Sad but justice done.

It was reviting. Felt that Melinda got her true justice. No else will hurt.
