Publisher's summary

Whether it’s monkey business, funny business, or getting down to business, Janet Evanovich’s Lizzy and Diesel series proves that there’s no business like Wicked Business....

Lizzy Tucker’s once normal life as a pastry chef in Salem, Massachusetts, turns upside down as she battles both sinister forces and an inconvenient attraction to her unnaturally talented but off-limits partner, Diesel.

When Harvard University English professor and dyed-in-the-wool romantic Gilbert Reedy is mysteriously murdered and thrown off his fourth-floor balcony, Lizzy and Diesel take up his 20-year quest for the Luxuria Stone, an ancient relic believed by some to be infused with the power of lust.

Following clues contained in a cryptic 19th-century book of sonnets, Lizzy and Diesel tear through Boston catacombs, government buildings, and multimillion-dollar residences. On their way they’ll leave behind a trail of robbed graves, public disturbances, and general mayhem.

Diesel’s black sheep cousin, Gerwulf Grimoire, also wants the Stone. His motives are far from pure, and what he plans on doing with the treasure, no one knows... but Lizzy Tucker fears she’s in his crosshairs. Never far and always watching, Grimoire has a growing, vested interest in the cupcake-baker-turned-finder-of-lost-things - as does another dangerous and dark opponent in the hunt, a devotee of lawlessness and chaos known only as Anarchy.

Treasures will be sought, and the power of lust will be unmistakable as Lizzy and Diesel attempt to stay ahead of Anarchy, Grimoire, and his medieval minion, Hatchet, in this ancient game of twisted riddles and high-stakes hide-and-seek.

Love this series!

Love Lizzie and Diesel. . and can't forget about Carl! I enjoy their special abilities without being totally over the top. Glo's sweet innocent curiosity with spells is adorable. Fun, light and quick reads.

Fun bit of fluff

Where does Wicked Business rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It was fair, certainly not great literature, but a nice diversion for a few hours.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Having read the first book in the series, "Wicked Appetite", I knew what I was getting into. It was intended to be a funny bit of fluff, and as such, it was enjoyable.

Have you listened to any of Lorelei King’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

King's performance was outstanding, as usual, and totally made the book worth listening to.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

This is not a moving book at all....but if slapstick humor is your thing, it has some really funny scenes.

Any additional comments?

I'd only recommend it to fans of the first book, "Wicked Appetite", or fans of the "Stephanie Plumb Between the Numbers" series.

An adventure which lived up to the first

Would you listen to Wicked Business again? Why?

This is a story to go back to, especially when the next book in the series arrives.

Fun and just enough sizzle to make you dream

The only drawback is that the two main characters might not get together because of the special power issue, that would be a shame. And, Wolf seems really great for a supposed bad guy. Can’t wait for the next book to find out how the saga continues. If you are new, start with book one.

Not as good as Stephanie, but still good

Would you consider the audio edition of Wicked Business to be better than the print version?

No, I would always prefer the print version, but I'm legally blink and forced to listen. However, this is a very good audio book - I really like this reader.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Wicked Business?

Carl the monkey and the cat are always funny.

Have you listened to any of Lorelei King’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have listened to all Janet Evanovich's books and I think she is a great performer - perfect for these books.

I loved this whole series

I listened to each book within 2 weeks time, I couldn't wait for each book! I really thought it was good and had some seriously good laughs. If you like witchcraft type books then you will definitely like this series.

I need Book 3 STAT!

All I can think about is how incredibly funny these books are! I don't understand how anyone can be that humorous! That aside, the book is great. The plot is thick, in more than one way. The characters are all well-written, and I'm just waiting (a very long time) for the next book. (I really hope there will be a next book....?)

I'm not one to listen to a book more than once, but the two books in this series are an exception. The Evanovich/King combination is a total knock-out!
