Publisher's summary

A grand estate. Ten unsuspecting guests. A diabolical game of life and death.

A companion to the upcoming show Whodunnit? on ABC.

Ten excited guests arrive at the Westlake Estate, expecting a lavish retreat. They are the winners of a sweepstakes to "Live Like a Billionaire for a Week." But what was supposed to be a promising escape soon turns into a horrific nightmare. Within hours of arrival, the guests sit down for an extravagant dinner. When they pull their party poppers as instructed, a loud chorus of bangs resounds, followed by earsplitting screams as the guest seated at the head of the table bursts into flames and slumps to the floor. The others are told they must solve the crime or be the next victim. The killer, their diabolical host, is hiding among the frightened guests. Is the murderer the well-toned trophy wife, the retired deputy sheriff, the stoned college dropout, or perhaps the sweet, homely grandmother? The killer toys with them, inviting the guests to explore the lavish estate, from the stables to the hedge maze, in an effort to uncover the gory details of how the murderer pulled off such a gruesome murder. Alliances are forged carefully and information is shared warily, since none of the remaining guests knows whom to trust. The next to die a hideous death will be the one with the least accurate solution to the latest murder. In the end, only three guests will remain: the winner, the loser, and the killer.

Full of tricky plot twists and over-the-top schemes, Whodunnit? Murder in Mystery Manner is riveting required listening for mystery fans. Listeners are treated to an edge-of-their-seat thriller as they participate in solving the crime. It's Clue meets Ten Little Indians.

Anthony E. Zuiker is the creator and executive producer of the CSI franchise, which includes CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, CSI: Miami, and CSI: NY. His mystery reality show, Whodunnit?, is his first foray into unscripted television. He lives in Los Angeles with his three children and his wife, Michelle.

Whodunnit is performed by the show's host/butler, accomplished narrator Gildart Jackson.

WONDERFUL STORY

I really enjoyed this book and the second one. However, I wish I had not listened to them one after the other. I should have listened to another book in between. That is just how I felt. May be different with someone else. Just letting you know, if you read this.

Great narration!

I can't wait until he explain Giles background and why the curse choose him. The second book is pretty good as well.

Quite a surprise!

Any additional comments?

For free, very impressive. I really enjoyed how the chapters are broken down. I was surprised in the end but felt bad about how the main character's ending went. I want to hear more.

I won't be watching the tv show. I'd rather listen to this again.

This is the first in the Whodunnit series by Anthony Zuiker. After reading the authors bio I realized he created several television shows that I have enjoyed watching. It seems like this author has many different creative outlets and they all pull readers into wanting more.

This story line was very interesting. It almost played out similar to a murder mystery weekend or a dinner theater murder/mystery. Something that will pull readers in and allow them to want more.

Then we have the narrator Gildart Jackson. His voice is something that kept me interested while listening to the audio book. I cannot wait to listen to more by this great narrator or read books by this great author.

So far the author only has two books out in his Whodunnit mystery series. I really hope he will publish more in the future.

The bunnies and I recommend this book to any who enjoy an intriguing mystery novel.

The bunnies and I give this book 4 carrots.

It's A Page Turner ( On Audible )

I love mysteries and this is a favorite. Chapter after chapter, I found it hard to stop listening because I needed to know what happens next. I love this author's work on the CSI TV series and his book was just as entertaining. This mystery is a game show of crimes where the ultimate prize is your survival.

The narrator is excellent taking the mind through every scene; helping the listener see every piece of evidence. Will you guess "who done it" before the last page is read?

Surprisingly fun... caught up a very good book

I am surprised that this book was really good. The book kept me engaged and I found myself with a pen and paper writing clues to solve the murders along with the guests. The narrator was good I really enjoyed his voice of Cliff, his voice sounded like Clint Eastwood too funny. Overall very good book and interactive

Interesting

Would you try another book from Anthony Zuiker and/or Gildart Jackson?

Of course, but id only do it for Jackson's voice.

Would you be willing to try another book from Anthony Zuiker? Why or why not?

Sure because it was good.

Could you see Free: Whodunnit? being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

It is a tv series. Jackson makes a great narrator.

Hope this is a series...

Agatha Christie is one of my favorite authors so mystery holds a special place in my heart. When I read fiction, it is one of my favorite genres. Needless to say, even though the TV show has been decent, wasn't sure it would convert to a novel well. Boy I was wrong.

Whodunnit?: Murder in Mystery Manor is a well written mystery that will keep you guessing and the performance is top notch.

The story is similar to the TV show if you have seen it. If you haven't, 10 winners are surprised with a week of fun at a beautiful mansion but what they don't know is murder is afoot. And to make it worst, one of the 10 winners is the one who will kill until someone wins.

This simple twist will keep you guessing. It took me all the way until the next to last murder to guess the killer and even then, the book through cool twists to make you wonder.

The narrator and butler gives a great performance. He talks in first and third person yet it flows naturally. The voice acting is top notch to make out who is who and the chapter design is simple and straight forward.

Couldn't put this book down. In fact, even if the TV show fails, hope this book becomes a series. If you like mysteries or a good performance, this book is right for you.

Genuinely Surprised

I had fun with this murder mystery. This is not my usual genre of fiction but after listening to this book I immediately bought the second in the series. I wish Anthony Zuiker would continue writing these books. Giles is a wonderful character. I find him endearing in many ways, the poor guy. Soon after reading both books I ran to ABC's website and streamed the one season of Whodunnit? over the course of a few nights. These books read in the same fashion as a reality show. That's what sets it apart from other books I have read. If this series were to continue, I think I would have to buy the series in physical form as well to keep as part of my collection.
