Publisher's summary

He is an expert with the latest technology...a madman with the mind of a genius and the heart of a killer. He quietly stalks his prey. Then he haunts the police with cryptic riddles about the crimes he is about to commit - always solved moments too late to save the victims' lives.

Police lieutenant Eve Dallas found the first victim butchered in his own home. The second lost his life in a vacant luxury apartment. The two men had little in common. Both suffered unspeakable torture before their deaths. And both had ties to an ugly secret of 10 years past - a secret shared by none other than Eve's new husband, Roarke.

Crack another case with Eve Dallas.

Vengeance in Death

Yet another great book in this series. Eve and Rourke are the best characters and the sub-characters just keep getting “better & betterer” 😆

Best narrator

She does all the voices so differently that it is no problem to distinguish who is talking even in a group meeting situation

Roarke’s past rears it’s head!

In this audiobook, Eve Dallas gets called by a creepy man at her office at Cop Central, giving her a riddle to solve to try to prevent a murder. When the victim is found it is difficult to pin him down, and then he calls in with another clue for another murder. While putting the pieces together, Roarke realizes he knew both men years ago in Dublin and that he must tell Eve everything about his past. When Somerset is implicated in the murders, the race is on to clear his name while trying to stay ahead of a determined killer. Ian McNabb Of the EDD dept is brought in and he and Peabody are still butting heads, which is amusing. A trip to Ireland brings out the killers next move and a trap is set when Eve and Roarke return to NYC. The interactions between Somerset and Eve become more emotional in this story and help them understand each other better. The story has a bit of an unexpected twist at the end. Narration was excellent!
