Loving the story, but ...

I'm a huge fan of the JP Beaumont stories, however, the narrator was a bit rough for my taste. My vision of Beau and his voice doesn't match. Everyone in the story sounds like grizzled old western-sty!e cops; without the twang. Can't place the slight accent, but it is not Seattle-ites. (My home town!) I don't see buying another audio book if he's still reading for ythe author.

You never know for sure.

Interesting curves and walls throughout the story. Sticking to the values of the job can oftentimes be difficult.

A VERY INTERESTING STORY

Would you consider the audio edition of Until Proven Guilty to be better than the print version?

Yes, Gene Engene made the story come to life.

Who was your favorite character and why?

J.P. Beaumont - of course. A tough cop.

Which scene was your favorite?

Several scenes with Pastor Michael. He was truly evil.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It was disturbing. Stories dealing with child abuse are disturbing.

Dissapointed

Poor narration. Voice changes childish. One sounds like poor imitation of Capt. Kirk, another like Foghorn Leghorn.

Anne Corley backstory

I am glad to know the history of Anne Corley. Otherwise the mystery of the book seemed to stop mid-book. I am also glad it wasn't the first Beaumont book I read. They get better and better.

My first JP Beaumon novel. Excellent!

Memorable moments? When he punched Max. And I never believed she would/could shoot him. Loved the ending. Am now a fan.

Gruff and burly cop story.

Gene read this like the hard nosed old fashioned cop Beaumont claims to be. Keeping in mind that this was written in the 80's some of the story reads as such. Cant say I was surprised at the end since it seemed like it was pretty predicable. Liked the sex scenes but kind of off kilter read by such a burlesque and gruff voice of a cop. The narrator does a great job. The story was middle of the road for me, but I will listen to more of hers becuase being from Arizona, I want to support our authors.

Lackluster Entry

I enjoy the other of Jance’s series, but this one is hit or miss. This entry isn’t as strong as some of the others. It also suffers from poor narration. Don’t give up on this series. It gets better as Jance and Eugene hit their stride. The entries that are especially good, are the ones where he teams up with Sheriff Brady. They are a good team.
