Publisher's summary

This is my family: Vanished without a trace....

Justin and Libby Denbe have the kind of life you’d find in the pages of a glossy magazine: A beautiful 14-year-old daughter. A gorgeous brownstone on a tree-lined street in Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood. A great marriage, admired by all. A perfect life.

This is what I know: Pain has a flavor....

When investigator Tessa Leone arrives at the crime scene in the foyer of the Denbes’ home, she finds scuff marks on the floor and a million tiny pieces of bright green Taser confetti. The family appears to have been abducted, with only a pile of their cell phones and electronic devices remaining. No witnesses, no ransom demands, no motive. Just a perfect little family, gone.

This is what I fear: The worst is yet to come....

Tessa knows better than anyone that flawless fronts can hide the darkest secrets. Now she must race against the clock to uncover the Denbes’ innermost dealings, a complex tangle of friendships and betrayal, big business and small sacrifices. Who would want to kidnap such a perfect little family? And how far would such a person be willing to go?

This is the truth: Love, safety, family . . . it’s all touch and go.

predictable outcome, no surprise

was happy to get this over with. not a mystery and also had the same omnipotent professionals. did like the investigator and the state cop. only actual characters developed. others were cliche

A bit long-winded but still great

I am a huge fan of Lisa Gardner. She knows how to combine edge-of-your-seat mysteries with heartfelt character drama. I love her detective characters. Though I am a fan of DD Warren, I think I like Tessa and Wyatt even more. I hope to see them again as I continue to dive into Gardner's works a bit behind the eight ball, so to speak.

Touch & Go is not Gardner's best work by any means, though we get to spend time with Tessa and Wyatt, so that is a plus. I figured out the twist earlier than suspected, but Lisa threw in enough red herrings where I began to doubt myself. She is good at that. I was on the edge of my seat, for the most part, throughout the novel, but the sections with the Denby family dragged out a bit for me, and I really never got attached to Libby. She was just a little too meek and too trusting given her background to be believable. Otherwise, I highly recommend this book.

Absolutely Brilliant

I'm a huge Lisa Gardner fan. This is her best story yet.

Her ability to tell the story from a unique point of view. The way she includes characters from previous books, but with a different perspective, and most of all her ability to just tell a damn good story. These are the things that keep me always anticipating the next book.

kept me guessing

Where does Touch & Go rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

this book had some twists I didnt see coming which actually made me gasp audibly.
Not necessarily a good thing when you ride mass transit.....
it was performed exceptionally well. I believe the reader/performer has as much to do with your enjoyment of a book as the story.

the story was fluid and with the alternating chapters by character, I thought it moved along at a quick pace. I did however, at the end figure it out before the characters. The product of too many thrillers I guess. At any rate, thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to the next one!!!

I am going to download her other books as well.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Really liked Tessa and Wyatt as a team. They sort of complimented each other's thinking process.

What about Elisabeth Rodgers’s performance did you like?

I always enjoy a performer who gives each character their own personality, inflection and can make you visualize them in your mind. In this case, once the characters were introduced, you were able to immediately identify each one even if the book did not.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

as mentioned before, several times, I gasped or made some other audible comment while on the train. got some looks from other passengers but if a book causes you to laugh, cry or some other emotion, it is awesome in my book.

Good, but...

Interesting story, great plot twists throughout the book. I just felt that Libby's character was a little flat - hard for me to feel sorry for her angst, with her "woe is me" attitude and self-victimization.

This was my audible I drove to and from the office. It did not disappoint. Really enjoyed.

Definitely listening to this one again!!!!!

What a crazy story!!!!! This book will definitely keep you up at night listening into the wee hours of the morning. This book grabs your attention all at once and never lets up. The ending is a total shocker. I was in awe and absolutely couldn't believe what I had heard. This was by far one of Lisa Gardner's best books and I only wish she would write an entire series starring Tessa Leoni and the new character the New Hamphire sheriff Wyatt Foster. There was a brief appearance in the beginning by DD Warren and for once I liked her and didn't despise her.
This book is definitely worth a credit or even a buy. Elisabeth Rodgers did a great job as the narrator. I saw other reviews giving her a hard time on her male characters. I however thought she was outstanding with all the character voices. This book is definitely worth 5 stars. The ending alone will blow your mind.

It was ok!

I did get tired of the whiny wife, but love the author and the storyline was it so bad. Looking forward to the next book!
