Very good book

The story line was unexpected. It was something you have not heard before. The narrator was also very good. She handled the different characters very well. The only thing that I could wish for is a sequel. The Hawker needs his story told.

Excellent

This is a very wonderfully rich novel. I am so pleased with this author (Joanna Bourne) I will definitely be gifting hard copies of this book for Christmas as well as the audible novel. Kristen Potter is truly talented and helped spin the tale delightfully. The male characters are intelligent and witty. The female character is brilliant and enchanting.

If you love romance with endearing characters and complex plots you will love this as much as I did. Bravo! A must read- for sure!

my first

I'm not even sure how I came across this book and it was my first with this author. It was an enjoyable listen. It was a bit more senuous than I expected but in the end that didn't distract from the story. The book grew on me as I progessed through it. The historical part was good as well.

Wonderfully written

I love her writing. It's so beautifully imagined and crafted. I hope this writer keeps this series going.

enjoyable enough to keep me till the end

It started out very interesting then had some unexpected twists and turns. It kept me coming back to find out what happened. It became a little tedious at parts because it was unclear why she would not disclose what she came to disclose. All-in-all I enjoyed it, but as much a romance novel as it was any kind of spy intrigue. The narrator did a fantastic job with the voices and inflection and accents I bought it on Kindle as well but I really enjoyed listening more than I did reading because of her lovely French accent for Annique.

Well Done

This is my first book by Joanna Bourne and I’m a new fan. This was extremely well-written with powerful details providing insight into character behavior without “telling”. The story was far from your typical romance, and much better. These types of stories are few and far between when so much out there is same same/different name. I’m always digging around for writers with great attention to detail and originality, and it’s exciting to find a new favorite.
Narrator was excellent. Looking forward to exploring this author’s library.

DON'T PASS ON THIS ONE!!!!

It amazes me how some audio downloads can be the same length of time, yet are never able to build all the detailed elements of the characters and story. NOT the case with this download. This one is sooo wonderfully developed and projected... I wish there were more stars to give especially for Ms. Potter. She was amazing! Only complaint is that this is the only download currently available for Joanna Bourne.

Brilliant

One of the absolute greatest books ever. I always thought Rosalyn Landor will never be matched, but Ms. Potter comes very close, simply amazing.

What a Find!!!!

I can't wait for the sequel...please say there will be one? At last a story with a plot as well as romance, fast action and characters. Ms. Bourne has a great future, if her style of storytelling can continue. Congratulations on a wonderful first book...we look forward to even more! An excellent narration by Ms. Potter, really enjoyed the whole experience.
