Rowling Hits the Rhythm for Crime Noir
I wasn't sure about Cormoran Strike after the Cuckoo's calling, but now I'm sold. I was even less sure about Rowling as an author, or if her success was was a lucky one-time break... now I'm convinced that she is as excellent as I always hoped.
The Silkworm has all the advantages of a Rowling work; most importantly it has engrossing prose that leaves you wanting one for page, or listening to just one more chapter.
It also has what Cuckoo's Calling didn't have; a first-rate crime noir plot. It passes the crime noir litmus: it has an ending I could have figured out, but didn't.

wouldn't have gotten it if it wasn't j.k. rowling
it seemed to take me forever to finish this because I kept taking breaks from it. I wanted to finish it to move on to something else. I liked the narrator he did a good job and was English. which was nice since it's an English story. I didn't realize it was a sequel but I don't think it deterred the story. it was an intriguing mystery with a twist I wouldn't have guessed. robin was my favorite character even though I didn't like her most of the time.

Very good payoff
Book is an excellent mystery, however, it gets a little muddled and complicated in the middle. Lots of characters to keep track of. Could have been shorter but still very entertaining and an excellent performance.

Strike & Robin are a perfect pair
Love this series! The attraction held-in-check by both protagonists makes for an irresistible, addictive and promising plot element despite the detective assignment they are facing.
The narrator is fantastic. He seems to have endless mastery of accents and the tone, timbre, gravel and pitch of a variety of male & female voices; just fantastic.
