Publisher's summary

Roger Ackroyd knew too much. He knew that the woman he loved had poisoned her brutal first husband. He suspected, also, that someone had been blackmailing her. Then, tragically, came the news that she had taken her own life with a drug overdose.

But the evening post brought Roger one last fatal scrap of information. Unfortunately, before he could finish reading the letter, he was stabbed to death.

Keeps You Guessing Until...

A masterpiece. Christie keeps one guessing until 11:59PM. Somewhat peculiar to me: I also appreciate the lack of subplots; basically the entire novel revolves around one plot and one plot only: and it never drags!

Agatha’s Greatest Work?

As a fan of both Agatha Christie and Hugh Frasier, I find nothing in this audiobook to disappoint. Glad I was able to add it to my collection at a sale price!

Excellent story and excellent reader.

Thoroughly enjoyed the story. Fraser does a superb job of bringing the story and characters to life. Well worth the time and money.

Agatha Christie Invents the Genre

Agatha Christie writes an extremely well thought out mystery with money, gossip, love, and of course murder being the front runners of this delightful novel. Having read “Murder on the Links” and “The Mysterious Affairs at Styles” I was expecting a good read. This Novel went above and beyond those expectations and goes down as one of the greatest books I’ve ever read, or now listened too, as Hugh Fraser captures the essence of this breath taking novel.

Had me doubting myself the whole time!

I loved this book and the narrator. I couldn’t stop listening to the story! I had it playing in the car, at the gym, & at home when I was cleaning or doing my makeup. I had to know how it ended. The murderer ended up being the person I thought it was at the beginning, but the by the end of the book I had abandoned that theory so I loved the twist at the end! This author’s books have yet to disappoint me, I love her work!

Best in series

I have read 9 Agatha Christie books featuring Hercule Poirot. This is my favorite. The characters had me laughing out loud. Hugh Fraser is an absolute delight. Characters and plot woven seamlessly. A must have in your audible library.

Another gem from Christie!

I can't get enough of Agatha Christie! It doesn't seize to amaze me the depth with which Dame Christie planned and executed her novels; the attention to detail is impeccable!
Very enjoyable read/listen. Love, love High Fraser! I forget at times that it's one person speaking. He gives each character such specific accent/intonation/pitch, and you get transformed into the novel.
My commute to work and back home is something I now look forward to thanks to Hugh Fraser and Ms. Christie.
Now off to go check out my next Christie book!
