Publisher's summary

In this eagerly awaited follow-up to The Lion's Game, John Corey, former NYPD Homicide detective and special agent for the Anti-Terrorist Task Force, is back. And, unfortunately for Corey, so is Asad Khalil, the notorious Libyan terrorist otherwise known as "The Lion". Last we heard from him, Khali had claimed to be defecting to the US only to unleash the most horrific reign of terrorism ever to occur on American soil. While Corey and his partner, FBI agent Kate Mayfield, chased him across the country, Khalil methodically eliminated his victims one by one and then disappeared without a trace.

Now, years later, Khalil has returned to America to make good on his threats and take care of unfinished business. "The Lion" is a killing machine once again loose in America with a mission of revenge, and John Corey will stop at nothing to achieve his own goal - to find and kill Khahil.

Good story great performance

Thanks for eliminating the incredibly annoying background music. It only detracts from the telling of a good story.

A riveting sequel

I couldn’t wait to delve into this sequel to The Lion’s Game to see what becomes of the main characters and how DeMille would pull it off. Takes a cleverly minded author to develop clever characters, not to mention intense suspense.

Wow

Another edge of your seat story that is brilliantly narrated by Scot Brick. Once I stated I couldn’t stop listening. Mr DeMille has such a creative mind.

Another Awesome Read

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

It is a current situation story. Yes, it does take place some years ago, but the CIA is working with terrorism and therefore, it is a current subject. I moves along, with little to no lag. Kept me listening.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Lion?

the character Assad was very interesting in the way he performed his retribution on the Americans that killed his family. He was there without actually being noticed. I like that -- it made the story very compellilng

Which scene was your favorite?

Ted Nash getting shot. I thought he was a total ass.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

John Corey to the Rescue!

Any additional comments?

DeMille writes some very good books. I have read all of the John Corey books. Each one was very good. This one was one of my favorites because there was so much activity. It kept my mind jumping.

DeMille, at his best

What did you love best about The Lion?

Take a great story, add an incredibly talented narrator, and bang!.....you're hooked. Probably not a great idea to start this until you have time to be absorbed by it, because its a great book with a very compelling cast of characters.

What does Scott Brick bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Brick's ability to flow between characters with his vocal diversity is impressive. He also took to time to learn how to pronounce all the words properly, something too many narrators don't bother to do. Scott Brick adds enormously to an already compelling book.

captivating

Enjoyed the thrill, the captivation and the continued story from the Lion's Game! Even if you didn't read the Lion's Game, a person would enjoy it since he recaptures some of the events! Great book, I wish it didn't end.

King of Wit!

The King of Wit does it again! Great book! DeMille does John Corey so well. Just wish it was a longer book so I could enjoy it longer!
