Publisher's summary

The four dead guards didn’t concern Mitch Rapp as much as the absence of the man they’d been paid to protect. Joe Rickman wasn’t just another foot soldier. For the last eight years Rickman had ran the CIA’s clandestine operations in Afghanistan. It was a murky job that involved working with virtually every disreputable figure in the Islamic Republic. More than a quarter billion dollars in cash had passed through Rickman’s hands during his tenure as the master of black ops and no one with a shred of sense wanted to know the details of how that money had been spent.

At first glance it looks as if Rickman has been kidnapped, but Rapp knows certain things about his old friend that cause him to wonder if something more disturbing isn’t afoot. Irene Kennedy, the director of the CIA, has ordered Rapp to find Rickman at all costs. Rapp must navigate the ever-shifting landscape of Afghanistan as the Taliban, Iranians, Pakistanis and Russians all plot to claim their piece of the war torn state.

With Afghanistan crumbling around him, Rapp must be as ruthless as his enemies and as deceitful as people in his own government if he has any hopes of completing his mission.

Mitch Rapp there is no other.

I missed this one in my library. Glad I found it. Great story. George Guidall is Mitch Rapp and visa versa.

The Old Mitch Is Back!

Great! The Old Mitch is back. And with him some of the great characters we have come to know and love. I was delighted to see this one slide right in behind " In Pursuit of Honor". So, for new fans this will be a great two-pack for you. It was fascinating to see these vunerable spots of Mitch here and there and then snap back into the tough man we know him to be. Another glowing preformance for Geo. Guidall. When I think of Mitch Rapp I hear Mr Guidall in my head. To Mr Flynn: It's good to know you are feeling better. I wish you continued improvement.

One of His Best!

Vince Flynn fan or not you're pretty hard to please if you don't love this book. Flynn has a magical way of keeping the action moving without ever coming close to corny. The characters are real and you will quickly get to know them even if you've never read a Flynn book. But, treat yourself and read them all. There are lots of references to the past and you will better understand the sequence of events if you know the history. Rapp, Hurley and Kennedy battle the evil doers once again - all with a hard edged attitude. No flowers and roses in this one. Get invested in Mitch's latest antics. I only wish there were more authors that could write like this. As usual, Guidall tells the story as though its coming straight from his head, not a book. Sheer brilliance.

Classic Vince Flynn

Would you consider the audio edition of The Last Man to be better than the print version?

George Guidall is a master of the spoken word. I have an image in my mind of each character because of the way Vince wrote and the way George spoke the words. Each has a distinct personality.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Vince Flynn is my favorite character. On a mission and he does not suffer fools, no matter what their position

Have you listened to any of George Guidall’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, right at the top.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I can see the theme of the book as a modern day reality in present day Pakistan.

Any additional comments?

I am sad to know this was Vince Flynns last book. It's like a friend has passed on and I will miss reading his words.

Again....?... Mitch is the man!

Almost finished with this serious and I’m not looking forward to the ending of a great good guy versus bad guy storyline. We all need a bit of time to step out of the volatile reality we live in - learning to be number to the terrorism against the US and press on with national security issues. At least Mitch wins every time and I need that every now and then.

Yet Another Fantastic Mitch Rapp Installment

I have been waiting on the edge of my seat for another Mitch Rapp installment especially one that didn't focus on the back story and this sure did not disappoint.

Another gripping performance by George Guidall also.

Another great Mitch Rapp story

Would you listen to The Last Man again? Why?

Will listen again as the story goes fast and you get caught up in situations that make your mind run.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Rapp is the person we hope is out their defending us.

Any additional comments?

If you haven't listened to a Vince Flynn or a thriller book - this is a good starting point that will probably get you hooked.

Wow!!!!! It's new every time I listen! Oh how I love Mitch! Vince did an incredible job writing this book as it was his last complete book he did. Looking forward to Mills bringing Mitch back to life and continuing Vince's legacy
