Audie Award Winner, Thriller/Suspense, 2014
From David Baldacci - number-one best-selling author and one of the world's most popular, widely read storytellers - comes the most thrilling novel of the year.
Will Robie is a master of killing.
A highly skilled assassin, Robie is the man the U.S. government calls on to eliminate the worst of the worst - enemies of the state, monsters committed to harming untold numbers of innocent victims.
No one else can match Robie's talents as a hitman...no one, except Jessica Reel. A fellow assassin, equally professional and dangerous, Reel is every bit as lethal as Robie. And now, she's gone rogue, turning her gun sights on other members of their agency.
To stop one of their own, the government looks again to Will Robie. His mission: bring in Reel, dead or alive. Only a killer can catch another killer, they tell him.
But as Robie pursues Reel, he quickly finds that there is more to her betrayal than meets the eye. Her attacks on the agency conceal a larger threat, a threat that could send shockwaves through the U.S. government and around the world.

Very well done and certainly better than just reading it
Full of suspense with interesting characters
Listened to it on a nine hour drive, needed to finish at home
As good as the story is, the ending is not as good as it could be unless it comes back with a book two. Everything shouts for a sequel because of loose ends
Dog Enthusiast! Love the outdoors
David Baldacci has a hit with this one. Like I said like Jack but with alot more resources.Gives you a good idea what goes on behind the scenes in govt sinister doings.
I like the way they work together. I don't usually like multiple readers but this duo hits it off well
Totally addicted to Audible.
This was not a bad book but not what I expected from Baldacci. Lame story and distracting narration left me wishing I had saved my credit.
If you love a good mystery, you will love “The Hit”. It is a true page turner. There in intrigue, government bureaucracy, conspiracy, double dealing, and unexpected twists and turns as the reader enters the worlds of Will Robie and Jessica Reel. This is not your normal mystery because the “bad guys” aren't your normal “bad guys” and “The Hit” has a totally different look at the end of the book.
I hate having to wait for the next installment. Heard it comes out in Nov.
Blue Man While this may seem a little strange that such a minor character is my favorite I identified with him most of all. He works in a huge bureaucracy of very dangerous people and seems to be the conscience of the agency. He finds a way to do the moral and "Right" thing in the middle of a bunch of incredibly powerful egotists.
I felt as if the characters were dynamically separate with definite unique nuance to each voice.
You never know when you are in the crosshairs.
Another home run from David Baldacci! I have read/listened to several of his books. Although the Camel Club series is my favorite, this one is running a close second and may move into first place.
I'm an inventor and author, living in Seattle; an old man, living a full life with Kathy, my first and only wife.
Good story, and character development; sound and entertaining. What else would we expect from Baldacci?
i wasn't sure what to expect from this book, i loved it! i will definately be reading more of Baldacci's books!!!
i am addicted to audio books. I always have one on in my car, or on my i-pod when I'm cleaning or shopping. I always have loved to read
Another great hero developing with Robe. Interesting, (although it only in fiction) and indestructible. I like this book
Didn't hold our interest. Listened for about an hour then turned it off.
I really like Baldacci so might like reading the book but really did not enjoy the audible.
