"A superb story of death, love, and deception....Taut, compelling, and insightful." (Library Journal)
"Brilliantly plotted, lyrically written, alluring and magical, mesmerizing, terrifying, and heartbreakingly funny....a wrenching masterpiece" (Booklist)
"A spooky, consolatory fable....Sensitive, moving, and gently haunting." (Kirkus Reviews)
This book started out with a bang, but sort of meandered the rest of the way. The narrator got on nerves after awhile.
