Publisher's summary

Trenton, New Jersey, bounty hunter Stephanie Plum has inherited a "lucky" bottle from her Uncle Pip. Problem is, Uncle Pip didn't specify if the bottle brought good luck or bad luck. . . .

BAD LUCK:

Vinnie, of Vincent Plum Bail Bonds, has run up a gambling debt of $786,000 with mobster Bobby Sunflower and is being held until the cash can be produced. Nobody else will pay to get Vinnie back, leaving it up to Stephanie, office manager Connie, and file clerk Lula to raise the money if they want to save their jobs.

GOOD LUCK:

Being in the business of tracking down people, Stephanie, Lula, and Connie have an advantage in finding Vinnie. If they can rescue him, it will buy them some time to raise the cash.

BAD LUCK:

Finding a safe place to hide Vinnie turns out to be harder than raising $786,000. Vinnie's messing up Mooner's vibe, running up pay-per-view porn charges in Ranger's apartment, and making Stephanie question genetics.

GOOD LUCK:

Between a bonds office yard sale that has the entire Burg turning out, Mooner's Hobbit-Con charity event, and Uncle Pip's lucky bottle, they just might raise enough money to save the business, and Vinnie, from ruin.

BAD LUCK:

Saving Vincent Plum Bail Bonds means Stephanie can keep being a bounty hunter. In Trenton, this involves hunting down a man wanted for polygamy, a turnpike toilet paper bandit, and a drug dealer with a pet alligator named Mr. Jingles.

GOOD LUCK:

The job of bounty hunter comes with perks in the guise of Trenton's hottest cop, Joe Morelli, and the dark and dangerous security expert, Ranger. With any luck at all, Uncle Pip's lucky bottle will have Stephanie getting lucky---the only question is . . . with whom?

Janet Evanovich's Sizzling Sixteen . . . so hot, the book might spontaneously combust!

Great Escape Book

Janet Evanovich again delivers with this fun, silly romp through the burg. If you like a not-too-deep-but-still-intelligent book, with lots of smiles and a few genuine belly laughs, you'll enjoy this read. A great escape from a hectic day.

One of her most fun books!

This is one of the best by far! The many characters and plot lines that come together in the end make this a very fun, if slightly absurd, book. You always know who is speaking because of King's excellent vocal characterizations. I have found that many age groups (late teens through 70s) can take an interest in SIZZLIN SIXTEEN because it includes several themes with which the listeners may relate. I thought the Hobbit theme was woven into the story to make it a really fun ride! The serious things that occur are offset by absurd happenings courtesy of such eccentric characters as Mooner and his Middle Earth cohort. I could imagine this book being made into a movie because it offers the opportunity for comedic scenes on scales both small and epic larger-than-life. There might be Stephanie Plum fans who do not like this one. But I ride around in an aging Honda Civic with a Rangeman magnetic sticker on the back of it so when I come out of work everyday, and see the sticker, I will smile. Sometimes, when I see it, I laugh out loud, as some of the extremely funny and wacky moments spring to mind from Evanovich's various novels. This is definitely one of her wackiest, yet it still makes you worry about how everything will get resolved and it still inspires the listener's concern for Stephanie's well-being. Great for a road trip!

The Reader Wins Again

Lorelei gets Stephanie Plum and the rhythm of the words. Such a delight to labor with earbuds and Stephanie Plum. Another delight... On to #17...

This book was a little more exciting

I am getting impatient for Stephanie to end up with Ranger. I wish she would just Sleep with him already.

More Plum adventures!

The capers of Stephanie, Lula and the gang continue to delight. Cluck in a Bucket, funeral homes and this time an alligator join the fun.

Holy Hobbits!!

I loved the storyline. Hopefully Vinnie will have learned a few lessons. I love that Mooner is back, and I really want Stephanie to decide to go with Ranger.

Entertaining

I am probably in the minority but here goes. I am starting to think that Ms Plum and her antics are predictable and tedious. I mean, this is a grown woman and she can't decide between two men in her life. She endangers her grandmother's life on a regular basis and she is just immature! The reason I gave this book 3 out of 5 is we weren't subjected to her ever changing mind switches between the two handsome men. There were a few times when she had enteractions with them but it wasn't as sappy as other books and I liked that for the most part, she was an independent' woman. High time, too, I mean, what is she? Twenty-seven and not from an affluent family. I laughed a lot and shook my head at other times but it was a book that I enjoyed for the 5 plus hours of listening.

Classic Plum

No surprises in this book... Stephanie is surrounded by wacky characters carrying guns, some of the gun toters are friends and some are bad guys.

All of the Stephanie Plum novels are intricately woven in details but still are entertaining and an easy listen.

I highly recommend the Stephani Plum Series I am a true fan of this comedic mystery series and fully intend on attending a book signing next year!!
