Good read
You fell into these peoples lives and felt for them. The time of the book gave you depth of character. Only issue the girls voice by a male reader is not that great. But loved it and will read more from the author!

Another tasty multi-layered character cake
Thomas Perry again captivates with not only the exciting plot but the typical character discovery he presents in books. I am always amazed at the attention to detail he provides that helps the reader inhabit different characters. This struck me at one particular point, one character was discussing the quality of another's hands giving an evocative picture of refinement.
Michael Kramer nailed it. The story crackled.

Great story
I really enjoyed this book The best part about really liking this book,is realizing Thomas Perry has a zillion more to pick from. Now I am off to Butcher’s Boy. I will be back to see where the next installment takes Jack Till.

Crazy complicated to the end !
story just grew and grew on me. right when I thought it was getting boring, bam a nice twist and more was revealed to pull me back in. good to the end and I will read more in the series.

I loved this one and Metzger's Dog too, great!
Just the right of believable mystery. This is the 4th of Perry's book and next to Metzger's dog or maybe equal to it this book is great.

Too many mispronounding comon Calif. cities & stre
What did you love best about Silence ?
The premise is good. Stayed interested. Didn't like how the ending wrapped up everything with no explanation or clue on how that was done. Tkhe ending was disappointing. I found the mis pronouncing of common California cities and streets irritating. La Canada is pronounced La canyada. Than's just one example.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
Too pat. Seemed like a rush to finish the book without explaining how it was done.
Have you listened to any of Michael Kramer’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No. He has a wonderful voice. I just recommend when it doubt about how a city or well known streets are correctly pronounced, find out the correct pronunciation.

Cliffhanger alert!
I liked it, unique characters, unusual storyline. Enough to keep me wanting more...maybe, but book 2 is not an automatic download for me.
