Publisher's summary

The #1 New York Times bestselling author and the Edgar Award-winning author are back with a new novel featuring Kendra Michaels - hired gun for both the CIA and FBI.

A deadly multi-vehicle pile-up on San Diego’s historic Cabrillo bridge is thought of as a horrific accident - until Kendra Michaels arrives on the scene and perceives it as something much more sinister.

Blind for decades and now sighted, Kendra's unusual skill for observation is highly sought after by both the FBI and CIA. Now her amazing conclusions open up a multi-jurisdictional investigation that once again teams her with the FBI and federal agent Adam Kyle as they investigate a conspiracy so explosive that someone will kill again and again to protect it. As the killer casts a deadly web of lies, Kendra’s life hangs in the balance, as do the lives of those she holds most dear.

Can't stop listening!

I'm not much of a murder mystery person, but I love true crime stories. So when a friend of mine told me about this series I decided to listen. Thinking I'm not going to be that into them. Boy was I wrong. I just finished the second book they're very engaging, and all of the story is full circle. The authors don't take an hour of your time telling you about something that is non relative to the full story.

I had some issues with Kendra's character while reading the first book. She was so stubborn and everything had to be her way to the point it I thought it was overdone. I now realize that was done on purpose, because her character goes through a change from having to do everything herself to being able to lean on someone. I now love Kendra as well as the other characters involved in her life. Especially Olivia and her mom.

Having not read a ton of Murder Mysteries before I did like how I could kinda tell what was coming before it happened. I don't know if the authors did this on purpose or not. However, I noticed I would figure something out, a little before Kendra did. Which I liked! It was completely as though I was there with Kendra's character.

The other part of the story I loved was I never had the, "That could never happen in real life" feeling. Which is one of my favorite things about these books.

Well... I'm on to book 3 and I doubt I will be disappointed.

Engaging and enthralling

Loved character development, glad there was no huge lovey dovey stuff, esp glad the author did not stick in the obligatory intimate scene. The characters and story were developed enough that it kept you engaged to see wat would happen next. Enjoyed this story immensely.

Yass, Kendra

Loved this book, it picks up where book one left off and has me craving for more. I now on to book 3. It’s really good to read a book with an extraordinary woman who is not super emotional and unbelievably smart.

Can't wait to read the next Kendra book.

The book moved quickly. Kendra is amazing and Lynch is all a woman could want. This book, and the prior ome, kept me on the edge of my seat. The narrator was excellent. I didn't tire of her voice and she had a good range of voices.

Not up to par

This book starts off great but goes down from there. It just goes to corny towards the end. It leaves you hanging. It is just not as good as her other books.

Cheesy

This book was extremely campy and the dialogue just did not feel real....at all.

Slightly Disappointed

The story was alright, not completely predictable. The downfall was the narrator. It was very hard at times to tell who was speaking because most of the male characters sounded the same.
