Publisher's Summary

Two years ago, Sara's husband left for the gym one morning...and never came back. His car was found. He wasn't. Unbelievably, the police report said, "no foul play suspected." There were a few sightings over the following months, but little else.

Now, on the last day before summer break, her three children have gone missing from their schools, all at the same time.

And the note under her windshield wiper asks one foreboding question: Are you ready to play the game?

    "Disappointing"

The story was okay, enough to keep me listening to the end despite several eye roll moments involving solving ridiculously esoteric riddles that the heroin was able to solve using the same non sequitur logic Adam West used when facing The Riddler in the old Batman tv series.

Furthermore, the reader just didn't do it for me. She had a hard time with male voices so much so that it was laughable at times. I would have preferred just a straight reading of the text. But most irritating was the reader's poor pronunciation on a couple of occasions. She pronounced "mirror" like "meer" and she violated one of my personal pet peeves when, on several occasions, she pronounced "jewelry" as "jewlery". These may seem innocuous, but they threw me out of the story every time.

    "Not impressed"

I was excited to start this book. I don't know if it was the narrator or or the book itself but I couldn't make it. I tried but it was just eh. The reactions of the mom in this were just so far fetched that I couldn't related or get involved at all. so anyways bummed I spent the $1.99 to upgrade to the audio for my drive. I ended up listening to music instead.

    "Good story but..."

The narrator doesn't seem to know how to pronounce certain words and the editor should have corrected them.

So far I have loved every book Ernie Lindsey has written. My friends you need to start reading some of these independent authors. Finding this these hidden gems of the book world has truly changed my life.

    Story
"How far will a mother go for her children?"
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Yes I enjoyed this book. It made boring motorway driving much more interesting.

    Any additional comments?

This was an enjoyable book, which starts with a normal single mum of 2. Her husband has previously vanished years earlier and she has given up hope of finding him.
She has a great job as an executive working for a computer games company and while she is at work, her children are kidnapped.
The kidnappers made certain demands of her to play a 'game' and this book follows the story of what she goes through to try to get her children back. She stops at nothing to get them back and finds an inner strength she did not know that she had. She finds out what happened to her husband in the process.
It is a book which was heart breaking in places, as I am a mother myself. I could feel her pain. It is true, that given the option, you would put yourself in danger at the prospect of finding your children.

"Good story. Much better then audible write up."

Sara's game was an audible suggested story. I've tried these in the past with no luck but this is a great story. Interesting the audible 'selling description' didn't do it justice.

This story is well worth the unabridged version with the added detail extra that one gets with unbridged books. Full of interesting depth and dimensions, don't be put of by the IT setting its part of twists of the story and bring a unique element to the story.
