Publisher's summary

Best-selling author Andrew Peterson is back with a heart-stopping fourth installment of his wildly popular Nathan McBride series.

When a mysterious note referencing a top-secret US operation is tossed over the wall of the embassy in Nicaragua, Nathan McBride and his old pal Harv are called out of retirement by CIA Director Rebecca Cantrell and sent to Central America. Cantrell wants the situation resolved quickly and knows that Nathan is the man to do it; after all, he has a history with the place. The jungle he and Harv are about to land in is the same one that Nathan barely escaped with his life decades before, an ordeal that left him physically and psychologically scarred. To make it out alive a second time, Nathan will have to face down his own demons and square off with a ruthless killer who learned from the best, Nathan himself.

Any additional comments?

Good read, you need to first read the others in the series but not necessary to understand this one.

A little one dimensional

Simple plot with one main venue. Could have been a short story. The previous books were better, but I still like the characters. Dick Hill is always great.

Not my favorite but

there wasn't as much thrill and suspense in this one. but there is definitely more insight into the characters. as always Dickinson Hill did a great job. I think if the narrator ever changed it would be very hard to listen to. I'm excited and anxious for book 5.

Love the reader's voice

Given that the author provided a great book, the reader did an excellent job bringing the written word to life. I loved listening to this book while I walked 5 miles for exercise. It took my mind of of the task!

A good book.

A little slow going, had some really good parts. Liked book 3 better. Would recommend.

A little slow to start

Book is a little slow at the start but once it got going I did enjoy the story. The narrator is one of the best.

Great book, Great Action

I love when these two guys are sent on some daring mission. Plenty of action in this book that will keep you guessing.

The best of the series!

When I listened to book three, I thought it was the 'best' in the series until I listened to this book. Nathan McBride reminds me of a modern day comic book hero but much more believable and engaging in the action. This is one of those books that kept me engaged through the end and would make a tremendous movie for many reasons. Although the other books in the series were great, this is the best with a tremendous story line.

Nathan & Harv - A Great Friendship!

You are always waiting for the next twist and turn in the story, but the relationship between Nathan & Harv is one of the strongest points of this series. Their relationship is the underpinning of each story reflecting strength of character, trust and loyalty. The addition of Holly adds an extra special twist. Dick Hill is the absolute best when it comes to a narrator! He makes every character come alive.
If you have been following the series I don't think you'll be disappointed. You can read this book as a stand alone, however, you'll enjoy it more if you understand the relationship between Nathan & Harv.
