Enjoyed it tremendously!

Enjoyed how the reader brought the characters to life. Sorry about one of my faves, Flynn. Good read!

MIND SCRAMBLER

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Never ending surprises, Starts out in Las Vegas, and continues from there... 😈 🎲 🎰 💰

Who was your favorite character and why?

Katie, she had so much to say, yet kept quiet....

Which scene was your favorite?

When they found the "LAST NOTEBOOK!"

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Under the pillars in the ocean.

Any additional comments?

Excellent book. Well thought out. I was wondering how the author was going to get a good book out of Danny and Ceepak out of their realm. Here, he, did a good job! 😁

It's a possibility...

Any additional comments?

That this is one of the funniest crime mystery novels I've come across in a long time! I love that the story is told through Danny Boyle the young partner of John Ceepak because I swear the way he thinks is truly that of a young 25 year old with the rest of his life ahead of him and it makes for some funny if not hilarious commentary!

Talk about a crime mystery that has layers and layers of deceptions and misdirections that has your mind spinning by the end.

The crime is so much worst then first believed but with Danny and Ceepak on the case, the truth and bad guys are brought to light and I felt so guilty for laughing but dang it, it's not as if you have a choice. Danny's inner thoughts are hilarious sometimes!!!!!! I blame the author and that witty writing style!

An absolute fun audio this is with a dark crime to keep you interested and the narrator is absolutely perfect as Danny and Ceepak!

This Jeff Woodman guy is fantastic with all the different voices he can perform. He was awesome in Hell Hole, fabulous if not a bit adorkable in Mad House, and now one of my top 5 favorite narratives after this Mind Scrambler.

And I swear, you honestly feel as though your mind has been scrambled after this little tale of horror or magic I mean. Whew...

Not my favorite - but still good!

I think I didn't like this Ceepak Mystery as much because it wasn't set in SeaHaven. Because it was set in Atlantic City, there were not as many of the usual characters in it. I missed them. Don't get me wrong - it was still very good and, of course, I wasn't even close to figuring out who dunnit - he always comes up with endings I never see coming!

Wish I'd skipped this one

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Anyone who wants to read about the worst kinds of human beings would like this book.

What could Chris Grabenstein have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Not written it.

Which scene was your favorite?

The last one. But I wouldn't call anything about this book a favorite.

What character would you cut from Mind Scrambler?

All of them but John and Danny.

Any additional comments?

I love this series, but I wish I'd skipped this book. The murder victim is Danny's old girlfriend--sweet, innocent, loveable Katie. If that's not bad enough, add in pedophilia, uninteresting characters, and Ceepak's horrible old man, and the only thing that was good about this book was the narrator.

Magic shows are best on film

Not the best Ceepak book. Partly this is because large chunks of the plot surrounds magicians and their illusions, and these things are easier shown in visual format rather than described in book format. There’s lots of explaining how the smoke and mirrors worked that left me zoning out.

Another reason this wasn’t as good as,say, the previous book, is that the story takes place in Atlantic City, away from most of the supporting characters. It’s just Danny and John Ceepak, and that made this just another book. This book was also low on the humor and banter between our MCs.

Finally, this author has a thing for layering sexual perversion into his murder mysteries and by the end, this factors in heavily. Still an okay listen, especially bought on sale, but nothing to rave over.

Did not enjoy this one

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Cant imagine anyone enjoying it

Would you ever listen to anything by Chris Grabenstein again?

Yes, since I've already paid for the next one, if its another Bad apple I'll ask for a refund.

What didn’t you like about Jeff Woodman’s performance?

Jeff Woodman is great

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Do not enjoy hearing about Child exploitation

Any additional comments?

All the previous Cepek books have been great, this one was very disappointing, a very thin plot. Why the hell kill off Katie , and why the hell did Grabenstein let Capeks father get away with murder. VERY DISSAPOINTED
