Years later - after another bolt of lightning - the stranger returned, again to save Laura from tragedy. Was he the guardian angel he seemed? The devil in disguise? Or the master of a haunting destiny beyond time and space?

"The paradox in time travel's tampering with history provides an interesting twist in this gripping thriller by a popular writer." (Library Journal)
"Fast paced and satisfying." (People)
This is one of my all-time favorite Koontz-books, which I have read countless times. It was a treat to finally listen to it as well. But it's a pity that other fantastic Koontz titles like "The door to December" and "Watchers" aren't available at Audible.
I first fell in love with Dean Koontz via 'Odd Thomas'. Odd's story remains one of my favorites as have some of his other titles (The Watcher is a must read). Lightening Road is a very satisfying read. The thing about Koontzs' work that I love is his ability to transport me immediately to the scene and keep me on the edge of my seat. I felt the same way about Lightening Road. Loved the characters, their struggle and undying hope. It is well worth your time.
Sure, I'd love to hear your story....
Perfect book for when you want a bit of adventure, a bit of drama, and a bit of fun. Koontz wrote some great characters to star and co-star in this story with wide appeal. While it won't put you on the edge of your seat it will keep you greatly entertained.
Kneel Before Zod!!
Nothing really stands out, as a fan of Dean Koontz I believe this may not be up there with some of his other books.
yes, I'm a fan of his work.
Did a good job, despite the story falling apart.
Myst/thrillers, some contemporary and ✨fun fantasies✨are my favorites but always open for a good story.
Very inventive, solid story about the life of one special girl and a man who is fighting his own internal battle between good and evil. The story moves along pretty fast with just a few places that lagged but there are good characters that make up for it.
I am reading another Koontz book and I can't help thinking that if I had read this one I would have enjoyed it more. The narrator does good voices but his regular narration is very monotone. To each his own.
This was my first reading of Dean Koontz, and won't be my last. So glad it was on sale, so I could give this author a try.,
The story is quite mysterious from the start, and keeps you guessing all the way through the book. Found myself laughing and crying in this book, and that's what makes a novel a 5 star for me. I love to get wrapped up with the characters lives, letting my emotions go. It's very well written and the narration was excellent.
I loved Odd Thomas. I loved Watchers. So I looked for the highest rated Dean Koontz book on Audible. And this is it. So maybe I was just a little disappointed. It's an okay story but I don't think it is as good as the other two.
Better than Forever Odd, but not as good as Watchers or Odd Thomas.
He does a good job of reading the story.
No, the characters covered the full spectrum.
I think my expectations were too high.
I love time-travel stories, but this one took way too long to develop. Maybe I should have purchased the abridged version. I really wanted to like it, but overall, I can't say that I did.
My wife says she can read me like an open book. Though she regrets not being able to shut me up the same way. :)
A compelling story right from the start. It weaves and turns, but kudos to Mr. Koontz as he manages to catch all the potential loose ends that tend to get left hanging in other stories tackling a similar theme. Great job. Great twists.
I have to also give huge kudos to the reader, Christopher Lane. Mr. Lane's command of multiple voices, styles, accents and inflections made listening to this story such a compelling read. Well done.
