Years later - after another bolt of lightning - the stranger returned, again to save Laura from tragedy. Was he the guardian angel he seemed? The devil in disguise? Or the master of a haunting destiny beyond time and space?

"The paradox in time travel's tampering with history provides an interesting twist in this gripping thriller by a popular writer." (Library Journal)
"Fast paced and satisfying." (People)
This book is one of my all time favorites. I have read it several times and now, having it in audio format I can listen to it whenever I like. Which is usually on my way to work. Love it.
Held my interest from the very beginning to the very end. Thrilling, exciting, edge of your seat, a real page turner. It is such an interesting story. I loved all the characters. Didn't want it to end. I had read this book a while back and enjoyed it at that time. However, on audible with Christopher Lane as narrator, his many amazing voices made the experience of listening to the story that much better. His performance was Oscar worthy. I will look for more books with him as the narrator. Highly recommend! Definitely worth the credit
Edge of your seat, with twists and turns throughout
The action packed conclusion
With Winston Churchill
Take a trip on the Lightning Road
Arguably the BEST of the BEST of Dean Koontz
An educator and senior who listens to his books from his phone through his hearing aids.
Lightning by Dean Koontz is an allegorical time travel thriller. Koontz chips out both his characters and his suspenseful plot as a woodcarver brings a statue from a log of fine wood. Accepting he gives to the scientific community in Nazi Germany requires a well developed skill for suspending belief. The heroine's eight-year-old son seems more a prodigy than a normal kid. His mother also seems more a superhero than mother and author. However, even with these few weaknesses, I give Lightning five stars and recommend you give it a listen.
Robert Koontz has given the world so many wonderful books this is my favorite. The story is so unique
From the beginning you start guessing and fall in love with the characters
His voice gently pulls you into the story
When the thunder roll......get ready.......for who knows what will follow
I have both read and listened to this book twice ,and I know I will enjoy it again
The narrator was wonderful. Very easy to listen to. I'll look for more with Christopher Lane narrating.
The Guardian Angel for reasons that will be known if you read it all the way to the very end.
Rhythm. I noticed that when I read a book, I tend to flip through the boring details and get to the climax or resolution. Christopher Lane does an excellent job going through the rhythm to rev up the excitement.
Magic, Myth, Monsters
The convoluted plot. Normally, I figure them out. Not this time.
The action wasn't non-stop--there was good character build up, too. But the tension was constant!
The phone calls! So neat!
Both, as Koontz always does
Listen to it
I'm a web developer based out of Sacramento, I listen to books while I work, and love audible.
This was a fun and decently written Sci-Fi Thriller. It's the first book I've read by Koontz and based off of this I would read another. It was a bit different than I at first thought it would be, but I"m not gong to mention what it was as that will give parts of the story away.
"Excellent book - superbly read"
My husband is the Dean Koontz fan. I bought this in order that we could sit and listen to this together whilst I was knitting and he was not knitting! I fould it an excellently thought out book if a little 'strange' at first but coming to a fast paced finale. It was excellently read and I have to admit to a 'go faster, section that did my knitting no good at all. Really enjoyable.
"Another winner from Koontz"
I seem to find excuses to stay with Koontz' books and take every opportunity to keep listening. Again this has an interesting plot and great narrator ..and you just want to know what is going on.
"How good can a book be..."
OUTSTANDING.... I have listened to many audio books and this is one of those that just kept getting better, I could imagine it as a film easy.. great characters great story...if you listen to nothing else then listen to this...that is only my opinion?
"Great!! Well thought out"
I read this book many years ago and loved it then. Thought I would get it on audio to remind me if it was as good as I remembered and it was. Not your usual Dean Koontz Story but brilliant just the same. the charicters are well thought out and loveable. You feel the need to finish it to find out what happens to Laura through her life to see if she lives or dies???
What can I say Koontz at his finest and narrated very, very well.
Buy you will enjoy.
Whenever lightning strikes her guardian angel comes to save her. How many times can he alter her future? Where does he come from? Can he save her that one last time when she really needs him? Great listen, enjoy it!
"different but still good"
Great listen, great narration, not the normal Koontz ( of the few I have read), but very gripping. well worth getting
I always enjoy dean koontz and this was no exception, well read, excellent story and thoroughly enjoyable.
First audio book I've listened too . Really enjoyed it. Not quite sure about the accents and voices of the narrator but I got used to it. Great book
I have read this in paperback, but loved listening on audiable. Great twist to the story
"Slow Start But Stick With It."
Struggled at first but glad I persisted. Confusing, complex but brilliant. Off to by the kindle version.
