Years later - after another bolt of lightning - the stranger returned, again to save Laura from tragedy. Was he the guardian angel he seemed? The devil in disguise? Or the master of a haunting destiny beyond time and space?

"The paradox in time travel's tampering with history provides an interesting twist in this gripping thriller by a popular writer." (Library Journal)
"Fast paced and satisfying." (People)
My work prevents me from sitting and reading a good book, but Audible gave me that back!
Another great Dean Koontz book. I really liked the intrigue and was taken by surpriseby the storyline involving time travel. Kept me on the edge of my seat and I'd like that.
The way the story line held me from beginning to end. I couldn't stop listening.
I enjoy most of Koontz's books, but this one was especially good.
I don't know. But I will look for others in the future, Well done!
Because just when I thought I had figured out something, the story line sent me to a different direction. It kept me guessing....laughing, crying, excited.
I don't usually rate the books I'd listened too, but I just finished this one last night, and I felt like I had to share the wonder.
I was listening to this story as I was quilting It's intriguing plot caught me off guard and stopped the quilting process several times. Engaging characters well developed. Worth the time to listen to since it makes time seem to fly by.
My name is Marc Sylvester. I own my own Software company - Laughingbird Software. ... when I work, I listen to Audible books.
This is one of my favorite audio (and non-audio) books now.
I was surprised.
I love Dean Koontz and went looking for "any ol book" ... I read some reviews and figured what the heck.
This was AWESOME!
Christopher Lane's voice was perfect (and easy to listen to) and the story was excellent.
I remember picking up my first Dean Koontz book back in the day (The Watchers). My fav ... up until Lightning.
If you're on the fence on this download - jump and get it.
you'll love it
Business, Sci-Fi, Technology and the occasional potato chip!
Good story with some great references to history. The storyline ties together pretty well. The ending was too happy for me.
when I bought this book several months ago I got bored and stopped listening after the first chapter. I'm glad I picked it back up again because this time I liked it. it had some unexpected twists in the story plot, characters i can relate to, some tragedy, a little love and a happy ending.
Love to listen to Audible while driving.
Great story that made you wonder how will they get out of this. The main characters could never be safe with evil people coming from the past to kill them.
"Excellent book - superbly read"
My husband is the Dean Koontz fan. I bought this in order that we could sit and listen to this together whilst I was knitting and he was not knitting! I fould it an excellently thought out book if a little 'strange' at first but coming to a fast paced finale. It was excellently read and I have to admit to a 'go faster, section that did my knitting no good at all. Really enjoyable.
"Another winner from Koontz"
I seem to find excuses to stay with Koontz' books and take every opportunity to keep listening. Again this has an interesting plot and great narrator ..and you just want to know what is going on.
"How good can a book be..."
OUTSTANDING.... I have listened to many audio books and this is one of those that just kept getting better, I could imagine it as a film easy.. great characters great story...if you listen to nothing else then listen to this...that is only my opinion?
"Great!! Well thought out"
I read this book many years ago and loved it then. Thought I would get it on audio to remind me if it was as good as I remembered and it was. Not your usual Dean Koontz Story but brilliant just the same. the charicters are well thought out and loveable. You feel the need to finish it to find out what happens to Laura through her life to see if she lives or dies???
What can I say Koontz at his finest and narrated very, very well.
Buy you will enjoy.
"different but still good"
Great listen, great narration, not the normal Koontz ( of the few I have read), but very gripping. well worth getting
"Lightning By Dean Koontz"
I loved every minute of this book, the narration by Christopher Lane was fabulous, he really captured the essence of the story, making you feel as though you were there. The story is well written and in depth but without dribbling on and straying to far from the action. I don't want to spoil things so all I'll say regarding the storyline is brilliant, gripping and I didn't want it to finish.
This is my first book from Audible and I'm really impressed, let's hope the next follows suit.
"Enjoyed the story but not the narration"
Great story that kept me listening, but the narration was terrible - sounded slightly sped up or underwater or something.
"Really enjoyable story that keeps you listening"
I've had two of Dean Koontz' books before and this was just as good and will keep my buying more. Great story, albeit not entirely what I expected from the description. Definitely worth a listen.
I always enjoy dean koontz and this was no exception, well read, excellent story and thoroughly enjoyable.
First audio book I've listened too . Really enjoyed it. Not quite sure about the accents and voices of the narrator but I got used to it. Great book
