Not the right voice

I enjoyed the story - as I do all of the Picket stories. the thing I didn't like was the narrator's voice. it didn't fit Joe Picket. At least not the voice I've created for him in my head from reading the books. The voice made Picket seems..., well, snotty and petty. Just my opinion....

This one will make you anxious to get a hold of the following

An interesting story which involves prior characters in 12 sleep. He builds the bad guy in a unique way that makes the reader wonder how the events are going to work out and how Joe Pickett deals with it.

One of the better ones!

About half through the Joe Pickett series. While they are all very good, this one - to me, had a nice cadence to it. As always narration excellent. This author gets things right about the outdoors, the beauty and the beast.

Movie material

The story line was very suspenseful! As I go through the series CJ Box has developed the characters very well.

Kept me interested, excellent verbal picture’s painted

This is an interesting series and I enjoyed the scenarios and writing. My only complaint was the way the reader made female voices always so whiney and it seemed a bit odd. Excellent series and would be enjoyed by most men.

After reading more than a dozen of his books Now I can relax and listen to more . Even though I have read a dozen of his series stories I never tire of them. Keep on writing C J Box. MJM of Mass.

Outstanding...

Seems like CJ Box is getting better and better. There've been a couple of Joe Pickett stories that were a little slow, but not this one. And the more recent CJ Box material (eg, Badlands) is anything but slow. So his work appears to be on some sort of upward trajectory, getting edgier and better the more he writes. Outstanding storytelling. Looking forward to the next one in the Joe Pickett series!!!

shorter story, but so strong!

with extra credits, must get to the next story! Cannot fathom why this series hasn't been produced for a cable series! Excuse me while I order the next novel. BTW, definitely taking a road trip to Wyoming!!
