Publisher's summary

A woman is found murdered in the woods with a very special watch on her wrist, and what seemed a simple case soon escalates into a nightmare. The criminal methods of some of the most infamous killers of all time are being replicated by a new predator who stalks and strikes victims with a cunning brilliance. No one can understand the murderer's motives or who the next victim will be.

Drawn into this violent affair are two Secret Service agents turned private investigators, Sean King and Michelle Maxwell. Both have been hired to prove a man's innocence in a domestic burglary involving an aristocratic, if dysfunctional, family. Soon, stunning secrets will lead the partners into the middle of a frantic search for a killer unlike any they've confronted before.

As the Hour Game barrels forward, Sean and Michelle face a macabre puzzle and uncover one horrifying revelation after another. Nearing the truth, they will find that their own lives are in danger. And then they're hit with the biggest surprise of all. When you play the Hour Game, you have to play to win. But time is running out...for all of them.

In Hour Game, best-selling master storyteller David Baldacci has created his most mind-blowing and satisfying thriller yet.

Nice southern murder mystery

A very detailed and enthralling crime mystery here by Baldacci. Shaun King and his partner Michelle are back with a southern style rendition. 14 hours, but the story doesn't lose its intrigue, and it is very well read by the narrator, who does a variety of accents, and both male and female voices well. A very relaxing and yet suspenseful reading, which includes many different characters, and an unexpected ending. I think all fans of Baldacci or this genre in general will enjoy this book very much!

Hour Game

Scott Brick is the reason I listened to this book. He is a great narrator. This book had a lot of twist and turns. Multiple characters that were voiced very well. I can't even count how many times I have listened to this book. The story was put together perfectly.

great story

great story. I really prefer two narrators one for each gender. But this narrator did a great job conveying the character's emotions and personality.

Thumbs up, then they fell asleep

Great story but too long. Gratuitous car crashes and “hugs of longing.” (You’ll know what I’m talking about when you get there.)

Who done it?

I have read several reviews that rated this book poorly because the readers were comparing to other books by this author. I typically do the same thing with Stephen King. However, I have not read any other book by this author so had nothing to compare it to and I thought it was very good. A good deal of action sequences mixed between character development and good old fashion grisly murders. And what could you want more than a "who done it" where you do not know until the very end who the culprit is. The author follows up the perceived ending with even more twists and turns. The readers were fantastic and really fit the characters in my opinion and I had trouble putting it down. Not the best I have read but better than most and worth the price as a member of Audible.

First exposure and now committed fan.

This was my first exposure to Mr. Baldacci. I had seen the reviews and needed something to get me through a long drive from the Ohio border to Michigan's Upper Peninsula. I drive the speed limit and still wanted to continue the book after arrival at my destination. I have since purchased all of his remaining audible books for like sojourns. If you like thrillers with a little quirkiness this is a can't miss.

Bloody for Baldacci

I think that Baldacci does well with both action and character development. This book is stronger on the action than the character development. It is also a little bloodier that most of Baldacci's recent work. I have never been disappointed with Baldacci.
