Publisher's summary

This audiobook includes the following award-winning Harry Bosch thrillers, all voiced by standout Broadway veteran Len Cariou:

The Narrows (AudioFile magazine Earphones Award Winner): FBI agent Rachel Walling finally gets the call she's dreaded for years, the one that tells her the Poet has surfaced. She has never forgotten the serial killer who wove lines of poetry in his hideous crimes - and apparently he has not forgotten her. Former LAPD detective Harry Bosch gets a call, too - from the widow of an old friend. Her husband's death seems natural, but his ties to the hunt for the Poet make Bosch dig deep. Arriving at a derelict spot in the California desert where the feds are unearthing bodies, Bosch joins forces with Rachel. Now the two are at odds with the FBI...and squarely in the path of the Poet.

Echo Park (2007 Audie Award Winner for Mystery): In 1995, Marie Gesto disappeared after walking out of a supermarket in Hollywood. Harry Bosch worked the case but couldn't crack it, and the 22-year-old woman never turned up, dead or alive. Now Bosch is in the Open-Unsolved Unit, where he still keeps the Gesto file on his desk, when he gets a call from the DA….

The Overlook: In his first case since he left the LAPD's Open Unsolved Unit for the prestigious Homicide Special squad, Harry Bosch is called out to investigate a murder that may have chilling consequences for national security. A doctor with access to a dangerous radioactive substance is found murdered in the trunk of his car. Retracing his steps, Harry learns that a large quantity of radioactive cesium was stolen shortly before the doctor's death. With the cesium in unknown hands, Harry fears the murder could be part of a terrorist plot to poison a major American city.

Impressed? Ace detective Harry Bosch is also on the case in other exciting Michael Connelly crime-fiction novels.

Great books, but with some audio issues

This was my introduction to Harry Bosch and I enjoyed the character and the stories very much! Len Cariou did a fine job with the narration - love his voice. When I finished each of the first two, I was glad there was another one waiting, and I was sorry to see the third one end! Each book had a few instances of rough language, but not so much that I couldn't get past it. In each book there were also a few annoying, but fortunately brief, episodes of the audio either skipping or repeating; it didn't feel like like I'd missed much of the story because of them. Lastly, as another reviewer mentioned, the first two books were sequenced in reverse chronological order, and since each story contains references to previous events and people in Harry's life and career, this was a little confusing at first. I would recommend reading The Narrows first, then Echo Park, except that when you look at the chapter list you can't tell where one book ends and the other begins; the numbers just continue. This also causes the chapter numbers not to match what the narrator says they are in books 2 and 3. In spite of these technicalities, for 27 hours of listening to great detective stories for just 1 credit, I definitely recommend it!

Book vs Show

I think I like the books a little bit more... I do enjoy the show and these particular 3 books remind of the episodes I watch in Season 1 and 2.

Great price

I've read everything Michael Connelly has written. I love getting 3 books in one. I love that Titus Welliver narrates some, its like Harry Bosch reading the story. next in line I love Lou Cariou narrating the book.

You are hooked/grabbed from the GO all the way to the end! My mind works like Bosch ...the puzzle is the game

Lots of glitches

These three stories had a lot of audio glitches on my iPhone XR. And why not have them in order of stories?

Couldn't Stop Listening

The narrator nailed Bosch. Of course, Michael Connelly gave him great stories and characters to work with, as always. I intended to take my time and savor these three, but once started, it was a binge. I would highly recommend this set to anyone who likes crime thrillers. They each hit all the marks.

Stories are great!

I can do without the music, even in transitions, I’m just not a fan. I did really like the stories, but they were out of order. I may could have changed it but when I started the first one I didn’t know.

Enjoyed it!

I figured out The Overlook before Bosch!😉 I like Titus Welliver the best to play Harry Bosch.
