Yellowstone will never look the same to you

I loved all the Joe Pickett novels, and this is a favorite; The description of the inner structure of the lodge is great; however, this story isn't for the even moderately squeamish. You'll never look at a hot springs quite the same way again, and the exit roads from Yellowstone can be lonely and dark....

Pretty good

It was pretty good overall. It did drag in a couple of areas and the ending was flat. I do like CJ Box and will continue to listen to his books.

Pretty good but like a one-hour TV crime show.

Entertaining but not fantastic--a series book for people who enjoy this type of genre and aren't put off by stories that follow popular formulas. I loved the fact that Yellowstone was key to this story. It brought back such wonderful memories and that's what I liked best about it. 3.75 stars

Great Book

Glad to see Joe isn’t put through utter hell throughout the whole book as he has been in other books....

Narration was good as always but noticed Nate’s voice changed and lost the throaty narration as David has done in other narrations...

Best Joe Pickett Book Yet

Riveting story. Really incredible characters, situations and outcomes. I highly recommend this book with the caveat that getting the maximum level of enjoyment out of it may require reading the preceding books in the series to really know the main characters. Those are excellent books, but this one is my favorite thus far. Going to buy the next in the series immediately after writing this!

A bit of a slow burn, but C.J. Box never fails

Listened to this on a long road trip. It took a while for us to get through this one, some of the more scientific concepts evaded us. All in all, great book. The bit about Mambo No. 5 was iconic.

Yellowstone

IMO, the star of this book is Yellowstone National Park. Who knew, not me anyway, that it stands on top of a volcano, a very large volcano. Everything at ground level is likely developed by the forces therein. If the volcano ever blows, lord have mercy.

In this setting the author drums up another good Joe Pickett novel. Looking forward to the next book in the series.
