A case in Karma

The tale of good verses evil just with 2 cousins instead of 2 brothers. Good as usual wins out in triumph

Say that again

This book will have you on the edge of your seat all of the way through and wondering WHAT! You won’t see something’s coming and some you will say what do you expect right up until the cliffhanger end and you know you might not get direct answers in the next book you might have to put pieces together.

Recipes in the middle of chapters? Yuck!!

If you MUST read recipes into the audio book in the middle of the book, which is distracting and detracts from the story, put them in their own audio chapter so they can be skipped without the listener missing pieces of the narrative when it resumes!!

Another delicious mystery

Devil's Food Cake Murder, like other Hannah Swensen adventures, are light and easy reading. There's a continuing cast of characters so, if you would like to listen to these books, you should start with her first, the Chocolate Chip Cookie murder. Recipes are included!

Narrator ruined the story.

I have read several of Joanna Fluke's "Hannah Swenson" books in book form. This is the first I have listened to.

The narrator, Suzanne Toren, totally ruined the story for me. Her characterizations of the voices were so off-putting, and I thought about not finishing it several times. These characters are from Minnesota, which has a distinct dialect. I didn't get that at all from the narrator. And making Lisa and Michelle sound like 11 year-olds was beyond irritating.

While I find the books to an enjoyable "light read," I don't think I will be listening to any others read by this narrator.

Old fashioned ideas

Pre occupied about women and their weight , and they all have strange dating habits.,ba five minute rant on political and gun issues . There’s something in each book that surprises me in an unpleasant way…

I'm a fan of the series but.....

Hannah's incessant musings about her love life are wearing thin. The mysteries are also getting more routine.

Put recipes together at the end

I love the books. However I believe it would be better if instead of at the end of a chapter all the recipes were put together at the end of the book.
