Publisher's summary

When a NASA satellite discovers an astonishingly rare object buried deep in the Arctic ice, the floundering space agency proclaims a much-needed victory, a victory with profound implications for NASA policy and the impending presidential election. To verify the authenticity of the find, the White House calls upon the skills of intelligence analyst Rachel Sexton. Accompanied by a team of experts, including the charismatic scholar Michael Tolland, Rachel travels to the Arctic and uncovers the unthinkable: evidence of scientific trickery, a bold deception that threatens to plunge the world into controversy. But before she can warn the President, Rachel and Michael are ambushed by a deadly team of assassins. Fleeing for their lives across a desolate and lethal landscape, their only hope for survival is to discover who is behind this masterful plot. The truth, they will learn, is the most shocking deception of all.

Critic reviews

"Brown moves into new territory with his latest. It's an excellent thriller: a big yet believable story unfolding at breakneck pace, with convincing settings and just the right blend of likable and hateful characters. He's also done his research, folding in sophisticated scientific and military details that make his plot far more fulfilling than the norm." (Publishers Weekly)
"A dazzling high-tech adventure...Brown proves once again that he is among the most intelligent and dynamic of authors in the thriller genre." (Library Journal)
"This is pretty exciting stuff...and Brown certainly does have a knack for spinning a suspenseful yarn." (Booklist)

Deception Point (Unabridged)

Excellent, better than The Da Vinci Code. The author's solid research allows the reader to learn about the Arctic Circle and about the depths of the ocean. The action is non-stop. I couldn't put it down.

I really liked this book; unique store line, plenty of descriptions that enhance the story line. The narrator’s voice added to the “credibility” to the story. There are two “could be better” items: chapter numbers are totally off and the tiny sounds between chapters are like someone roughly turning pages.

Again

Very good reading and also listening, however after reading Illuminati and The Da Vinci code is the book scheme very the same.

Love Dan Brown ! I wasn't sure about this story when I first started, but it had me hook, line, and sinker, by the second chapter.

Great book poor read

The speaker has audible mouth noises throughout the reading which nearly made it impossible to finish. Great story but sounded like he was eating throughout it. Editing fail.

interesting premise but too predictable

I forced myself to finish this book. Interesting facts and info but predictable ending. Not worth it overall in my opinion.

Good Dan Brown imagination

Dan Brown doesn't disappoint. Good novel with possibly little overdone at the end. Keep you guessing but a little too far fetched at the end.

Must Read

If you like a good suspence story, this one is for you. I think that Dan Brown shows how well of a writer that he is with this novel. This action/adventure story will hook you from the start, and keep your intrest until the very end. This is definitly a must read.
