Publisher's summary

RITA Award Winner, Romantic Suspense, 2015

The incomparable J. D. Robb presents the latest moving and suspenseful novel in the number-one New York Times best-selling Eve Dallas series.

In a decrepit and long-empty New York building, a man begins the demolition process by swinging a sledgehammer into a wall. When the dust clears, he finds two skeletons wrapped in plastic behind it. The man is Lieutenant Eve Dallas’s billionaire husband, Roarke, and he summons her immediately. His latest real estate project is going to be on hold for a while, because by the time Eve and her crew are finished searching the premises, there are 12 murders to be solved.

After a little digging reveals that the place housed a makeshift shelter for troubled and homeless teenagers back in the mid-2040s, Eve tracks down the people who worked there. Between their recollections and the brilliant work of the force’s new forensic anthropologist, Eve begins to put names and faces to the skeletal remains. They are all girls. A tattooed tough teenager who dealt in illegal drugs. The runaway daughter of a pair of well-to-do doctors. They all had their stories. And they all lost their chance for a better life.

Everyone has something to hide. And when Eve discovers a stunning connection between the victims and someone she knows, she is even more driven to reveal the secrets of the place that was called The Sanctuary - and to find the evil concealed in one human heart.

Love JD Robb

Would you consider the audio edition of Concealed in Death to be better than the print version?

Yes, I don't have time for the printed copies. Susan Erickson brings Eve Dallas and the other characters to life.

What other book might you compare Concealed in Death to and why?

I don't like to compare books. I like the books that stand on their own. The "In Death" moves the story of Eve and Roarke forward without repeating a storyline.

Have you listened to any of Susan Ericksen’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I've only listened to her doing Nora Roberts material. Eve Dallas is the best.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, but I listen while working and only have an 8 hour day.

Another great addition

This one was a little heartbreaking, but lots of little mysteries throughout while investigating each girl. Roarke buys a building that will house street kiddos, like a foster home. While doing demo on the now ramshackle building, they discover 12 girls behind walls. Enter Eve. We fall a little harder for Dennis Mira. He's just the best. Roarke is getting into the holiday spirit and Eve is to finally. Just don't ask her to shop. An unexpected resolution.
Susan Erickson is always on point with the voices.

My favorite series

Ever. Of all time. Without question. In Death keeps getting better and better, I read that the series will end when she gets pregnant. I hope that's not true.

slower than most in deaths

as I love all of eve and Rourkes escapades, this book dragged and lacked the usual twists and turns. always great to see Eve and Rourke moving forward in their relationship but this one was kinda boring lacking even the plot twists. nevertheless I am still reading on through the series.

I swear, I just can NOT get enough

If you could sum up Concealed in Death in three words, what would they be?

Formula that works

What did you like best about this story?

These are always about the team. I have been reading this series for so long now, when a new one come along it feels like a chance to catchup with old friends. Eve, Roarke, Peabody....seriously, I just read these now just to see how everyone is doing.

What does Susan Ericksen bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She IS J.D Robb/ Eve. No one else could ever do this series as well.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Not really. This is one of her more forgettable ones. The "mystery" was not mysterious and actually, I found that plot line rather depressing. It was nice to see everyone again, but nothing new going on here.

Any additional comments?

Keep them coming.
