Publisher's summary

Some secrets just can't stay buried, in the brilliant new Lucas Davenport thriller from the number-one New York Times- bestselling author. "One of the best," said Kirkus Reviews of Storm Prey. "Razor-sharp dialogue, a tautly controlled pace and enough homicides for a miniseries. What more could fans want?"

A house demolition provides an unpleasant surprise for Minneapolis - the bodies of two girls, wrapped in plastic. It looks like they've been there a long time. Lucas Davenport knows exactly how long.In 1985, Davenport was a young cop with a reputation for recklessness, and the girls' disappearance was a big deal. His bosses ultimately declared the case closed, but he never agreed with that. Now that he has a chance to investigate it all over again, one thing is becoming increasingly clear: It wasn't just the bodies that were buried. It was the truth.

Flashbacks to Davenport In Uniform

I like this LD installment because it flashes back to Lucas as a beat cop on the verge of making detective. Don't worry...he's just as cocky and self-assured as a youngster but he keeps it to himself more than present day Davenport.

Best Prey in awhile

This was the best Prey book in the last couple of years but it was also one of the most anti-climatic. There was a lot of building to the final show down and it just went flat. The story was great and kept me interested the whole way just will it hadn't ended so abruptly. It was a worthy disstraction while I impatiently wait for the next Dresden book. I guess every book can't end like Changes but I wish they could.

Once past the beginning, a great book

If this is your first in the series the start will help you understand the story line. For us who have read every other Harry Bosch well once through this I could not put it down.
Thanks John and Richard another great story!

Always good

I was afraid at first I wouldn't like this one but it didn't take long for me to change my mind. Good story with all the same great characters.

Two Davenport stories in one!

This book fleshes out the histories of several regulars in the “Prey” series in an engaging & gripping tale.

Buried Prey

Wonderful Davenport book. Readers (or listeners) get to see the early Davenport and the current one and all the connected characters. Great action and reality and the narrator is top drawer. Preying for more. Can't wait for the next one. Well, that is until I get the next Virgil Flowers story. Love him too.

A Good Read - Worth the Listening Time!

I enjoyed this suspense filled story. I liked the Narrator and enjoyed the story line. It's different as it starts off in current times, then goes back in time 20 years, then comes current again - very clever the way ti was written. I'd recommend it.
