DI Kate Burrows thought she'd never face a killer like the Grantley Ripper again. But she was wrong. One by one, children are being abandoned. Thankfully, they're rescued from harm. Then one victim is not so lucky, and Kate knows she's in a race against time to save lives. Kate's finding the case tough and she needs the support of her lover, Patrick Kelly, more than ever. But Patrick's got his own problems.
A dead body's turned up in his Soho club and, although he insists he's been set-up, Kate begins to doubt him. It's not the first time Patrick's reputation has compromised her position. But now there's a maniac to catch and Kate can't let anyone - not even Patrick - get in her way.

Very clever story, takes the listener through to a completely different ending than expected.
The lead male, though his name escapes me. Because he was not as hardened as he pretended to be to his peers.
When the daughter was kidnapped.
"Another great sequel"
Top 10% easily
A good strong story and a gripping listen with a number of twists and turns
Absolutely nothing, she is a superb performer
Yes I would. Have already read the book and it is gripping and disturbing.
Not sure I have read a book like this before.
Yes, it was very disturbing especially when I work with small children.
Gripped me although I had previously read the book.
"Very good follow up"
Griping storyline, with good follow on of main characters but far too many small characters to keep track of!
"another great Nick for Kate!"
Loved reading this great entwined story lived the personal and the crime side ... next book please!
thought it dragged on a bit thought it could have finished a few chapters back. not my favourite matrtina Cole but still enjoyable
"A bit disappointed"
A bit disappointed in the ending as I read this straight after LadyKiller, guessed that Bateman was the killer halfway through...
