Keep it going Joe

I really enjoy CJ box series of Joe Pickett! There are twist, turns, suspects. You suspect someone and in the end it’s not who you thought! The locations and descriptions help you see the places described. Ready for my next Joe Pickett book.

One of the better ones.

I am working my way through the Joe Pickett series and this is one of the better ones. It gets a little old with all of the dumb bureaucrats and lowly peon seeing me only smart people. I have to admit that I saw a twist in this one but wasn’t able to figure it out till the end.

Lots of twists and turns

I love the Joe Pickett series. This one was a little more contrived than the others I’ve read. Also seemed like the author has a bit of an axe to grind with the EPA. I’m trying to read them in order. I feel the ending kind of came out of nowhere. Too many details left for the last couple of chapters. Still, it’s always a good yarn.

Joe doing what is right at all times.

I love all the Joe Pickett series. I would like the stories to go on and on. A lot of what CJ Box writes is so true about what’s going on in our nation today.

What made the experience of listening to Breaking Point the most enjoyable?

The outdoorsman and hunter elements connected with me. I could feel the cold, heat, and the suspense.

The best Joe Pickett Yet!

Would you consider the audio edition of Breaking Point: A Joe Pickett Novel Book 13 to be better than the print version?

This book had so many twists and turns it was like being on a roller coaster. I happened upon the series because I loved the narrated. I can't wait to get in my car and take my drive to work with MB, Nate Joe and the kids. It's insane!

What about David Chandler’s performance did you like?

!He is Joe

Individual Liberty at risk.

If you could sum up Breaking Point in three words, what would they be?

Abuse of Power.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Breaking Point?

The rancher trying to assert his private property rights against an abusive federal government agent. The Governor of Wyoming in the story found out how coercive the federal government could be. This is eerily similar to present day IRS agents who used their positions to assist groups they agreed with politically and harm groups that they did not agree with.

Which scene was your favorite?

The incident where Joe and his boss stop at a home to discuss a routine wildlife issue and accidentally discover a meth lab. This scene reminds us of the risks law enforcement agents can be exposed to in the course of a routine day and why they need to be ever vigilant. I also especially enjoyed the escape from the fire through the canyon and riding the rapids down the river.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Wyoming is still a frontier, beautiful and free and settled by a hardy independent people.

Any additional comments?

Wyoming must have plenty of crime since Walt Longmire and Joe Pickett are always so busy. George Guidall and David Chandler are both exceptional with their narration and this definitely adds to the excitement in the stories in both series. I love them both. Keep them coming.
