Publisher's summary

Lieutenant Eve Dallas struggles with the end - and the beginning - of life in this thriller in the #1 New York Times bestselling In Death series.

Just as Eve Dallas begins to investigate the grisly double homicide of two young lovers - both employees of the same prestigious accounting firm - her friend Mavis need a favor. One of the moms-to-be in Mavis’s birthing class has gone missing. Normally, such a case would be turned over to Missing Persons. But Mavis wants no one else on the job - and Eve can’t say no.

Now Eve’s trying to track down the missing woman, while simultaneously unearthing the deals and double-crosses hidden in the files of some of the city’s richest and most secretive citizens, in a race against this particularly vicious killer. Luckily, her multimillionaire husband Roarke’s expertise comes in handy with the number crunching. But as he mines the crucial data that will break the case wide open, Eve faces an all too real danger in the world of flesh and blood.

Crack another case with Eve Dallas.

"The audio skips smoothly along, connecting subplots blithely, and Susan Ericksen never misses a beat." ( AudioFile)

Great book

This one was even more entertaining than usual, with the birthing antics and with Roark's creative cursing. Blurb covers storyline. Highly recommend.

Gat story as usual!!

When a young couple who hold different positions in the same company are killed. she is killed in her apartment, first, and her fiancé is murdered in his home. But when Mavis friend Tandy misses her baby shower, a teary and hormonal Mavis begs Eve to find her pregnant friend who due any day disappears, Little did they know that the two are connected to a baby selling ring. I love how Roark and Eve act when Mavis has the baby!! I thought what Eve says as the head come out was just so hilarious! I hope that Mavis' baby will bring Eve and Roarke around to having a baby of their own.

I love Lieutenant Dallas.. Susan Erickson is "Mag"

Susan Erickson is the "Ult"... She nails it every time! She keeps me coming back. Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb is a black comedy genius! I'll probably listen to all of them!

Mavis' baby arrives

While the larger "bad guys" story arc is a little weaker, this book is well worth the smaller story arcs of Mavis & Tandy playing out. As always, Ericksen is the voice of "in Death".

Birthing classes....Hilarious!

Okay, this book is so hilarious! Yes, people are being killed, and there are multiple suspects, but honesty the best parts of this book is Eve and Mavis's baby shower and Eve and Roark during the birthing classes!!!! The dialogue between them is so funny. Susan makes the scenes come to life with her amazing voice! I will definitely listen to this again.

Bellisimo

Loved the book. I have gone back to the starting book to answer questions about characters and realized I had not heard all of the books.

Love,Love, love Susan’s narrating!! She brings the book to life!!

I love all the books in the In death series, I love the characters, I laugh, I cry, and I get angry right along with them!! But I wouldn’t love listening to them any where near as much, if it wasn’t for the voices Susan gives to the characters!! She makes the story come alive And makes the characters identifiable and gives each one it’s own personality, that suits each character perfectly! Except Trina! I don’t care for her voice lol ,maybe cause it reminds me of mine!!

A Crazy Case!

Eve is primary and Mavis is about due so you know what that means. Eve is about to scream when 1 case turns into 2 and she has more pregnant women that she wants. Enjoy
