Heart and Intrigue

A solid story that never got boring. I usually listen to more intense Mystery-type books; but I was pleased to hear this book. It had just enough suspense but also good characters and storyline. I especially appreciate it when an author can create a relationship between two people without having to be sexually graphic or low-minded. I'll read more of this author and narrator.

entertaining

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

The ending was somewhat, well really unbelievable ,but think as previously noted the Lifetime Movie comparison.

Was Blind Faith worth the listening time?

yes it was worth listening to. The book was entertaining which helped reduce the strain of long drives. It definitely will not win any awards for fine literature but it does have its place for when you just want " a story"- think Lifetime Movies. One disappointment was the use of made up Adirondack places/names. It would have been nice to have used some "real" mountain names.

Far fetched but a reasonably good listen

Way too many people with secrets and lies for a town of 486! Most of the characters were far fetched, but if you could get passed that, the action was okay. Crooked sheriff, crooked FBI man, mob boss all came together in a fight over crooked money. A couple of the "crookeds" being left out could have made this better.

FBI female character, Caitlyn Tierney, upon whom the series is based, had only a fairly minor role.

Narration was fine although I sometimes had difficulty realizing when the conversations changed to different places or people.

Could not stay awake. Too many unnecessary details.

The narrator was boring. Put me to sleep. So not a good book to listen to while driving!

A bit too melodramatic

An interesting story but the writing was rather heavy handed. Sometimes it’s sufficient to simply say someone is feeling pain/fear/whatever without providing multiple analogies, similes, and metaphors.

Poorly written cliche

What’s worse than a cliche? One that is poorly written. Characters that are shallow archetypes. Just a waste. The narrator tried his best, but even Judy Dench needs a palatable script. Sigh.
