Publisher's summary

When Joe Ledger and Echo Team rescue a group of American college kids held hostage in Iran, the Iranian government then asks them to help find six nuclear bombs planted in the Mideast oil fields. These stolen WMDs will lead Joe and Echo Team into hidden vaults of forbidden knowledge, mass-murder, betrayal, and a brotherhood of genetically-engineered killers with a thirst for blood.

Accompanied by the beautiful assassin called Violin, Joe follows a series of clues to find the Book of Shadows, which contains a horrifying truth that threatens to shatter his entire worldview. They say the truth will set you free… Not this time. The secrets of the Assassin’s Code will set the world ablaze.

Another great book

Once again he knocks it out of the park with this book. It was action from start to finish and I was ready to get the next one in the series as soon as I was done with it.

What a fun story

The first three books lead right into this exciting climax. My favorite one in the series so far…

Quickly became my favorite series

Each book is better than the last. Ray Porter is amazing and brings each character to life like no one else can. LOVE the Joe Ledger stories!

Joe Ledger Continues To Kick Butt and Take Names!

Where does Assassin's Code rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

As far as this series goes, it remains as good as the first book.

What did you like best about this story?

The continuity of the story arcs and character development.

Which character – as performed by Ray Porter – was your favorite?

Joe Ledger.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I was on pins and needles near the end of the book, when the Captain had to deal with more losses.

Any additional comments?

Maberry and Porter are like Rowling and Richard Harris or Burton and Depp. You will not be disappointed in listening.

Great Fiction, Great Series!

I loved this book, along with all the others in the Joe Ledger series. Just like the others this book had all the fast paced action and the humorous wisecracks I have come to expect. The narrator, Ray Porter, is the best, he really helped make this book even better. I didn't want it to end. Now I have to wait again for the next book in the series to come out.

Better than the third one!

I almost did not download this book. While I had enjoyed the last three Joe Ledger's (I read them in about as many weeks), a reviewer I 'follow' had cautioned against Joe's rants in this one (he had gone over the top at times in Book 3, so I could believe her). Luckily, another reviewer I 'follow' (one of the few books, I think reviewed by two reviewers I trust), recommended it...so I went for it. I have to say that I agree with Melinda: Assassin's Code is great fun. One of the best Joe Ledger's. The story keeps getting better and better. Maberry's ability to make you laugh out loud at Joe's wit as people get dismembered (I am NOT a horrible person, I am NOT) is simply amazing...I am sorry I will now have to wait for Book 5 -- at least, I hope Maberry is considering writing it! I was so spoiled by being able to read the whole series in quick succession. I want more!!!

Another Great Joe Ledger Novel

Zombies, and Terrorist and Vampires oh my! The fourth installment in the Joe Ledger series picks up follows the same template as the three before it but with a new twisted set of challenges. If you’re a fan of intense action, unique characters and a giant smart ass as your main character, then dive right into “Assassins Code” and enjoy the ride.

Ray Porter does a great job as usual.

Maberry does it again

Would you consider the audio edition of Assassin's Code to be better than the print version?

Dunno

What did you like best about this story?

Maberry has a fun, playful style of writing that manages to keep me wanting to hear more and more. Ledger is such a an unrealistic character that he almost becomes surreal in the story. Maberry has managed to keep Ledger and echo team fresh and interesting from Patient Zero through Assassin's Code through cleaver writing and Ledgers pizzazz sense of humor.

What does Ray Porter bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I enjoy Ray Porter's reading style for these military style fiction books. I wonder why he does not partake in more of these types of books.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No.

Any additional comments?

Thank you for the ride Jonathan Maberry!

not the best in the series

not my favorite in the series, but it gives important back story for characters. Ray Porter is a great narrator, sometimes I listen to books just because he is the narrator.
